The historic farm water pump

Yes they do work very well.
When I was a young child my family stayed with my Grampa, he had a water pump.
I remember (pump,pump,pump.) (squeak,squeak,squeak)
Some of my family out of state still have them. Most of course have both pumps and modern tap running water.
That's a good memory!
I forgot the squeek part. 😁😆😅

It was helpful to fill large watering cans to water vegetable plants, and also was useful to wash off hands and gardening tools.

Pump, pump, pump....squeak, squeak, squeak 🙃😊🤣🤣😃

We have & still use the hand pump we put on our well head back in the late 90s. With the animals, we needed to make sure we have water should the power go out for any length of time. It came in handy when we used it during Hurricane Ike & we lost power for 5 days.

My childhood neighbor "old Elmer" had no electric or plumbing in the house so had a well pump. He liked me enough that I was allowed to use it any time I wandered by, I always appreciated that cold clean water.
