I had to do a little digging to find a link to the murders in Toronto’s Danforth area in 2018. Two young women were killed and others shot by an Incel member, Faisal Hussain.

I belong to a forum that's mostly younger people. There are a few apparent incels on there. They can't get a decent job, they can't get a date on Tinder, etc. They blame women for taking jobs, they think all women only want tall rich men, etc.

They think women are doing nefarious things. For example, a woman who follows the "rules" and won't have sex until marriage? Obviously she's having sex with someone else in the meantime, because she's evil.

Through the years, I've known many men who thought the same way. But since they could get a job or a woman, it wasn't quite the phenomenon it is now.

I think the problem is systemic. How companies hire, how Tinder works, and much more. But incels blame women, as individuals or as a group.
 
Some misunderstanding about incels. In the historical Christian and Bhudist sense, celibacy meant not only no S with others but also no self S. During modern times in part due to pressure from modern psychologists, over decades that has morphed into celibacy meaning abstinence from S with others and pornography as being acceptable to societies. Although incels may claim to be celibates under the looser definition, they are heavily into both pornography and addictive self S and also many into drugs.

Reality is as the world of humans during the modern era given transportation and migration suddenly mixes, there are large numbers of what could be described as physically plain to unattractive people of both genders, especially those with indigenous backgrounds, that are mixing with those of all levels of attractiveness including those of long ancestral lines of wealth and nobility in all ethnic cultures. Humans that have evolved over millennia into what are culturally considered more attractive features. World media today, floods people with attractive celebrities, S explicit images, and porn that IMO causes psychological issues that tends to be taboo for media to criticize because there is much money involved from advertising. So no wonder such is warping people that have little chance of competing with those at that opposite end of the Bell Curve. This is also is a factor in racial and ethnic conflicts that media also won't discuss as it is taboo.
 
I read an article, which who knows if it's true or not but it was in a big publication like the New Yorker magazine or The Atlantic or something so I guess it was at least somewhat fact-checked; anyway the article was by a young man (he didn't say what ethnicity he is) who said he was a former member of a face-to-face incel group and was beginning to have doubts anyway about how much this group was helping with his problem of getting dates (and sex) and then came the final straw which finally convinced him to leave the group: at one meeting, a member who'd been gone for a while reported that he'd finally met a gal and had sex while he was out of town. The others including the writer are cheering and high-fiving him and the writer says to him, "Well I guess you'll be dropping out of our group now, huh, Dude?" The guy frowns and says "Why would I want to do that?" Writer says, "Well, you're not celibate anymore." "Huh, what are you talking about?""Well, uh, you're like not a virgin anymore so..." The lightbulb finally goes on and the non-virgin says, "Oh, no, that didn't count because she wasn't a 10 [on the hotness scale]! So I'm totally still Incel!" The writer says that finally opened his eyes. If any of that really happened--which wouldn't surprise me--it shows you that there are some people who just don't want to let go of their anger and aggrievement, they thrive on it maybe.
 
Never heard of a such a thing and dont want to know more. There be many women and men out there that some might not be seen as attractive. The truth is so many are fooled by what they see with the human eye. They don't take the trouble to get to know the person. They may be highly intelligent, hardworking, involved in making a better world for all, kind, thoughtful, family oriented and so many other qualities. It is far better to fall in love with someone for who they are and not what their physical attributes are like. It goes to show/prove so many live there lives according to what others might think and then find out later that the inside, the real person is has an ugly soul and think of no one else, only what they want, only what they need and to hell with everyone else. #cheating debt divorce misery. But they looked good getting there. LOL
 
It is terrible that this is happening, I didn't know what "incel"
meant until I read "Radish Rose's" reply, thank you, Young Lady.

the parents find a partner for their sons, but as they are now
living in modern Western Countries, they have stopped looking
and are leaving the finding of a partner to their sons, who have
no idea how to approach a woman, even just to chat?

I think that there just might be a grain of truth in that.

For most of human history, if a gal's dad wasn't rich enough to provide a dowry for her or if she wasn't pretty enough for a guy to want her even if she was poor, she sat home and suffered in silence or maybe wrote sad poetry.

Now a lot of young men, due to more and more gals being able to provide for themselves and not needing a guy to provide a roof over their heads and father children for them, are in that same boat. Are they suffering in silence? Of course not. Wow, what a difference, huh? :mad:
 
There’ve been incel killers in the US also. Unless someone is used to reading the word, it just blends into the story.

These guys with a marginal sense of reality can now band together on the web.
