The reason for nose rings ?

What about some people getting a diamond or ruby stone in their teeth? Could be easily ingested while enjoying the family meal, and then one has to go looking for it.
I'd try not to let anyone know that I'd ingested a diamond. If any "bad guys" are attempting to rob me knew, they'd recognize that my stomach had a higher cash value than my wallet.o_O

Thank God for that!
There are just some things that need to be covered up! especially in grocery stores!

I find it, with kids these days, its more of following what the others are doing, not tied to religion or tribal following.
I think many times, its done to stand out, be unique, to identify with something to make themselves memorable to others. I think its a negative attribute to traditional men depending on what and where its located.
I agree. Everything in moderation. More isn’t better. Im not against body piercing at all. Some look extremely attractive.

Luckily I don’t have to worry about seeing naked bicyclists showing off theirs because :

1/. I wouldn’t be at a naked bike race
2/. I wouldn’t be looking at people private parts even if one coincidentally drove past.

I don’t see that cause it’s not in the lifestyle I’ve chosen. This isn’t a superiority trip I’m on, it’s just stating a huge difference in culture and lifestyle.

We are known here for high attitudes with rolling hills and mountains and the only cyclists willing to do this type of ride is a serious one with all the appropriate gear. I would have no idea or care whether this cyclist was pierced anywhere. It wouldn’t even enter my mind.

I also don’t see kids with their pants hanging below their butt. Come to think of it. I’m a really LUCKY šŸ€ gal.

Just somebody clarify for me again please? Why am I seeing so many people, especially young women, who have not just one but often several rings bristling from their noses?

I want to believe there is a reason for everything.

I understand a ring for a bull's nose makes it more controllable for farmers to lead. That makes sense.
so you can identify them instantly on site as aholes--thus saving you valuable time -very thoughtful of them and our time

I have a small gold one, some lovely tiny nose studs as well. They go very well with the embroidered two piece Indian/Pakistani outfits which I wear to work. Silver bangles are a fine accessory also. My clients feel at ease, and I

am able to be my authentic self rather than model a mainstream professional look which would not suit me at all.

I like the sunglass wearing country singer gal's response on one of The Voice audition shows recently. She said "I wear the sunglasses because it annoys my mom."
There has been a lot of that attitude going around, since about 1899 in one form or another. Today's youth have just taken it to a much higher level of ugly. JimB.

I'm just glad the more extreme "body mod" fad isn't taking off. Forked tongues, distorted earlobes, exaggerated brow ridges, chopping off toes.

Maybe it's about wearing those pointy shoes?
The were doing that back in the 60's, chopping off the little toes to fit into the pointy shoes.

In fact, in the original version of Cinderella, the Evil Stepmother chops off her daughters' toes and pares down their heels in order to get their feet to fit into the glass slipper when the Prince comes around searching for his dream girl.

Nothing is new....it all comes around again.

Nose rings look to me as if the wearer is trying to get attention. Maybe desperately trying if they'd pierce their own nose?

I don't get it, but I'm quite sure they don't get me either. When they age the younger generation will come up with something strange.
