The Truth About Life

Me too. I thought at 65 I would be old and decrepit, but I'm more fit than I was at 45 because I now have the time to take care of myself and focus on my health. My other assumption was that you always had to look your best out in public. (That was my mother's philosophy.) Now I realize no on else cares. They are all focused on themselves.
Old & decrepit, per-lease, I'm pushing eighty and although I have had a hip replacement I only use a cane, as my surgeon suggested, for balance:
Oh hand me down, my walking cane. All that I did sixty years ago, I still do, albeit a tad slower. For what it's worth: How many retirees does it take to change a light bulb? One, but it’ll take all day.

We are our parents. We are what they were when we knew they were old. That is US now.
Don't know what to add.
Don't like it, don't want it but.....................
Every day is a blessing. Every day to seethe blue sky and smell the air is a blessing. Everyday to see the grand
kids is a blessing and everyday to see your wife next to you is a comfort.

As we said in Vietnam............it is what is is.
