I think it depends. Different parts of Canada have different interests just as in the US.

I really can't see Canada annexing the US. There's probably not one good hockey player in all of Florida.

We won the Stanley Cup in 2004, 2020 and 2021. I drive from Pensacola to Tampa to watch the games about 6 times a year.

Currently, the Canadian government debt is about 37,900 USD per Canadian.
The U.S. debt is about 85,000 USD per American.
Combining the two, would have each Canadian and each American having about 80,000 USD of the total debt.
So it seems like a win for the U.S. Citizen. So hell yeah!! I'm sure the Canadians would go along with that, as majority rules in a democracy... right?

Canada has this wild dream of one day having nationalized hockey players that would finally be better than typical USA high school players. Ain't gonna happen Dudley Do-Right.
