When I mouse overHere's another emoji interpretation..... I have always thought it was praying hands. Recently I was told its a high five. If you look at it, it could be either one. Again, interpretation.

Yes, so do I but we're talking about emojis used for reactions to posts.I have all those in my emoji list.
I think the forehead slap could be particularly useful. I know there are a few posts of mine I'd stick that on.I'd like to see these added: View attachment 283098 (yuck) View attachment 283096 (sorry) View attachment 283097(forehead slap)
I've had that forehead slap many times and it always means they are hitting themselves in frustration over my failure to "get it."I think the forehead slap could be particularly useful. I know there are a few posts of mine I'd stick that on.
Just to be clear: That was a forehead slap at myself!Oh, okay. View attachment 283099(That came in handy!) Yeah, we need more of those for sure!
I've had that forehead slap many times and it always means they are hitting themselves in frustration over my failure to "get it."
I've had the eye-roll directed at me, even more times, to express how dumb they think I am.
I've had the vomit one to show how they feel about me in a non-specific general way.
In other words, I've been on the political boards and lived to tell about it!
From now on I'm going to take the positive path:
The wow emoji will mean someone is gob-smacked over the sheer brilliance of my post.
The thumb says they wholeheartedly approve of it.
The heart says they absolutely love what I said.
The hug says they love me personally and want to squeeze my fat furry body.
The laugh says they think I'm funnier than the whole crew of the Carol Burnett show rolled into one.
The sad face means they're sad they aren't me.
The red face means they're angry at themselves for not saying what I said first.
A high five never made sense. Two people with the same size hands and same shirt. When I mouse overit says "folded hands: pray".
I think that's how they intended it. But evidently young folks have chosen the high five. When I mouse overit says "folded hands: pray".
Brilliant @Della .I've had that forehead slap many times and it always means they are hitting themselves in frustration over my failure to "get it."

I don't use theYes, this is the one I can't decipher. Are they angry that something happened, or angry at me because I wrote about it?
I only use the blue "thumbs up." If I want to send a hug, laughter, or other reaction, I use words.
I sure like your kitty cat in your pictureAll post reaction emojis are supposed to be positive, at least that's how I use it.
I would love to be able to look at the world that way; incoming emjois mean what I want them to mean. โฅJust like Beauty, emoji is in the eye of the beholder! Means whatever you want it to.![]()
I get that and totally agree with the idea, but where does that leave angry face? Constructive criticism? All post reaction emojis are supposed to be positive, at least that's how I use it.
Some times I have no idea what it's meant to express. More often than not, it baffles me what it is supposed to express. I think it should be retired and replaced with a more clear meaning emoji. This is probably oversharing, but the reason the emojis are important to me is because I am high-functioning autism spectrum, as is my daughter, and getting social cues correct can be difficult. What we see in someone's expression (or emoji) could be different than what the majority of the populace sees, and it causes problems with relationships sometimes. The cartoon faces really help me know and understand what someone might be thinking.
I see what you did there. This WOW thread has a real following.lol
Lots of disturbing news is posted here, that's where I use it, I'm "angry" about the news/story.Honestly, I like angry face because it's kind of cute so a gentle way of saying, "I don't agree."
Exactly what I was saying about using the angry face. It's a comment on the content of a posted story.Lots of disturbing news is posted here, that's where I use it, I'm "angry" about the news/story.
