Things that make me feel old:
Sending an invitation by snail mail and the recipient being shocked because "who the heck uses regular mail?"
Clothespins
Making references to Ozzie and Harriet, and getting blank stares.
Pong.
Having used, therefore knowing how to use a rotary dial phone, a VCR and a TV that doesn't have a remote.
Car seats for kids used to be optional. Thank God I didn't kill any of mine.
Wringer type washers.
Smoking on planes (well, really any enclosed space) was the norm.
Woolworths.
Living in a house with just one bathroom. Even earlier, living in a house in which the toilet was out the door, down the back steps, and along the side of the garden to the brick structure at the back of the yard.
Milk delivery.
Butchers
Pretending to smoke candy "cigarettes" as a child. They even came in what looked like a real cigarette pack.
Playing marbles.

I'm moving to the U.K. then ASAP. I love remembering the old things. You know understanding cursive writing is a skill now because of technology, kids only understand print so this makes me a wise old sage.

If times ever get really tough I may set up a stool by the edge of the woods and offer to read cursive for people, for a price! I'll be the local sage woman.

Looking at my photo I.D.s (Drivers License, etc.) which always seem to make you look older .... especially when you are told not to smile when the picture is taken! ☹

It's not as if home-rolled cigarettes have become obsolete, just that I tend to think very few people smoke such cigarettes anymore, whereas back in the day it was popular.

• Clackers (those glass type balls that were attached to each other with a string, where you'd swing them up and down to get the balls clacking together)

Maybe I'm out of step with the times, but it's been ages since I've seen a woman strolling around with an old-fashioned plastic rain bonnet on.

Takes me back to the 70's.
