So I had the cateract surgery on Wednesday,a few hours later at home I
get this big pain just below the left rib cage. Took the usual pain
medication, it doesnt work. Daughter comes over " you need to go to the
hospital that could be a heart attack."
At the hospital the admitting nurse checks me out and says "where does it
hurt " I showed her just below the left rib cage. She says your blood is really
high so we're going to admit you. She tells my daughter "its a possible
heart attack" and she goes nuts. Never had any problems with the heart ever.
In the exam room the doc orders the usual EKG and again high blood
pressure. Next Im transfered to my suite room.(real fancy room with all the furniture)
Hour later Im being transferred to a room that does the thread mill test
then to a room where its called Atomic Imaging room, back to the thread
mill again then another Imaging check. All this time I still have that pain
but a little less.
Back to the room, the chief of the cardiology comes in with the report
and tells me "we ruled out a heart attack"
And ask me to show him the exact spot where the pain is,Im pointing to
the last rib at the bottom of the rib cage.
He seems to get kinda piss off and left the room and went back to review
all the films of the area. Back again "it looks like the muscle near the
spleen and kidney is whats hurting you, asked I picked anything heavy and
bend over the wrong way, dont remember. He reminded me that I should see my own
physician and prepared the discharge papers. He leaves..
Now here's where it gets weird, another doctor comes in and suggestes an
MRI and that I should stay over night.
The nurse comes in and gives me the discharge papers, the doctor heard
her and left. What the hell?? I told the nurse what he just said to me and
she just shook her head. After a few hours at home and some aspirins and the pain is gone. The blood pressure is back to normal
Is somebody padding the bill? Im pretty sure this final bill alone will be over 10 thousands bucks. Ill let you know later.
