How about considering the possibility of species-fluidity? Let's say a person is convinced he is really a horse trapped in a human body. He goes out in public stark naked (horses don't wear clothes!) and gallops around on all fours, whinnying and snorting, eating only oats out of a feed bag?
Would we say he has a right to be any species he chooses, and do our best to accommodate his choice? Or would we say he is just, er, nuts?
