More than 4,000 Swedes are being implanted with a microchip that contains details about their identity.

The miniature technology bypasses the need for cash, tickets, access cards and even social media.

BioHax International is the market leader in the innovate industry and has captured public imagination since it was started five years ago by Jowan Osterlund, a former professional body piercer.

Some people argue the conveniences gained from the procedure by so-called 'body-hackers' do not outweigh the risks to their private data.

I would. I have said for years that we should just use fingerprint scanners for access to things. Want a credit card? Scan the fingerprint. Need credit approval for a car? Scan the print, please. Seems to me it would cut down on a lot of identity theft issues. I am not paranoid about my body being hacked--can't imagine why anyone would, lol.

Nope. Count me out. It might sound nice and convenient, and all of that...but, it just smacks a little TOO much as being a precursor to the biblical ''Mark of the Beast''. A brave new world...? It's scary and I don't see the necessity for it.

The article stated that employers are offering the chip to employees so they can enter the building quicker and pay
for their food more easily.
Good grief, can't people do anything for themselves now?

I might wear an identity bracelet with a microchip if I was starting to lose my marbles.
It could contain important information such as the names of key people associated with my care and welfare.
