Time to Put Her in the Tower

...and she has really short hair so she can't go all Rapunzel on me. The problem is on some of the activity tracker sites people are free to form groups. There is little moderation except on the main boards. The individual groups are formed by users and more or less self monitored. When I got a tracker for my daughter I put up her account. There are teen groups and I reached out to a few of the very active users. I explained that she is special needs so her messaging might be awkward sometimes. They wrote back that they were happy to friend her and cheer her on.

But like I said although a group describes itself as teen or farm women in Wyoming or hearing challenged gay men or knitters who run...anyone is free to join the group in theory. I'm happy I have such an open relationship with my girl. Unlike the typical teen she tells me everything, totally unfiltered. That's good because it will keep her safe as she gets older. They teach stranger danger in school too of course. Especially being safe on the internet. Tonight she showed me her friend request list. There was a smiling picture...of a 48 year old man...GRRRRRRRRR I stayed calm and we deleted him...but I wanted to reach into the screen and throttle...well you get the idea.

If I can find some central place or moderator to report him I will. I'll also suggest they set up moderation at least on the under 21 groups. The world is a scary place.
 

That is scary Fur, a lot of creeps out there who prey on young children, can't be too careful these days.

Any number of brands now but basically a bracelet or clip on device that tracks your activity for the day. They go from just tracking your steps for the day to the bells and whistles models that do everything except fly. It is fun to compete. I've friended people of every age and gender. You have a leaderboard, so say if out of 300 people you are at 49, that feels pretty darn good!

Like I said though they need protection for the under 21's
