Today Show host 84 year old mom is missing in Arizona-'concerning circumstances'

This case is very strange. First her kids tell us that she can't live more than 24 hours without her meds. Then they, for days, say they believe she is alive and will pay ransom upon proof of life. Did the "kidnappers" get her meds and have medical training? I don't think so.

I firmly believe that my medications are what keep me alive. I have a reason for this. One time, we could not afford health insurance for me for a year. The kids had CHIP, and my husband had insurance because he had to, according to him, because he was the breadwinner. He made far too much money for me to be on Medicaid. He just spent it all.

I was told not to lift more than 10 lbs. by my cardiologist. I sent my husband to buy clay cat litter (10 lb. bags) so I could put it on the ice in our parking area, so he wouldn't slip and fall trying to get into the house. He bought a 25 lb bag. I moved it from the cargo area of my car to the ground -- that took about 1.5 seconds.

I had a heart attack right away! I went into the house, and called 911. The dog, a collie, was instantly at my side, the kids came downstairs and I freaked out because the rug needed vacuuming, and the kids prevented me from getting up to do that. Well, I like my house to be presentable.

Anyway, so after that, I was pretty darn certain that the meds kept me alive. If I was to be kidnapped, then I'm pretty sure my kids would think that I would die without my meds, whether it is true or not. I think it is. Otherwise, why be on them? I have heart problems, vascular problems, kidney problems, high blood pressure problems. That does not sound like a recipe for life, unless one has meds.

Also, as far as believing she is alive, what else are the kids to have, besides hope and prayers? They sure don't want to believe she is dead.

I think the person on the camera was part of a burglary ring, probably cartel connected, and when they demanded she open her safe, she refused and they probably hit her and that blow in her medical condition caused a heart attack. Her drops of blood could have easily come from a busted lip or bloodied nose. They say she couldn't walk far and so far no sign of her walking out of her house, so I believe she was carried. If not dead then, then later.

I think all involved are connected to someone on the crew that roofed her house. They knew she was old, lived alone, didn't have a guard dog, and had money.
I think a contractor of some kind saw a criminal opportunity. Probably got a peak at jewelry box, noticed a safe etc. Or maybe she had a bank statement on a table or something hence the ransom demand. But ransom was an after thought especially if not showing proof of life.

I'm still unclear about the meds. If a planned kidnapping one would hope the kidnappers would account for that.

The gun in the picture indicates this was probably a home invasion gone bad.

Now they have revealed that they're trying to "ping" Nancy's pacemaker. Unfortunately, that may lead the perps to take it out. 😒
yes. ...
It’s not for lack of trying .. in helicopters flying over the Tucson area trying with Blue Tooth, to pick up the signal on her pacemaker.

The amount of resources being used is unbelievable …….$$$$$

The last update we got over here is that 3 men were arrested.
Any updates?
I think that was Friday night ..old news. they were released.

The news keeps showing that dope in the mask lumbering around. He seems pretty comfortable there on the porch. Like he's out there to keep watch and looking for ways to stay busy. Boss probably told him to do something about the cameras while they are inside so his bright idea is to stuff vegetation over the lens. Geez. 🙄

I have tuned most of it out.
People expect real life to be like a Criminal Minds and wrap up in an hour. Clearly, they were all over the place in an investigation and looks sloppy on TV.
will not tune in for one more "Breaking news" and it is same thing they said for days and endless " experts" second guessing. SMH

Her age / no meds and the stress I doubt she will be found alive the longer it goes. whomever had her did not have a plan was most likely a robbery gone wrong.

Same for me on all counts.

The other two, who went inside, couldn't find anything of value. They only found a lot of junk, like piles of store receipts and old church bulletins. That's when they decided to take the old lady and go for the ransom.

On the way out, the boss destroyed the door cam just so the dope on the porch knows from now on what "take care of the cameras means". Poor woman is somewhere while the doofusses are busy deciding what to do next. They should drop her off at an ER and leave town. If they haven't done that already.

You'd think she'd have turned up already but we're talking about an 84-year-old woman. No one notices old people. We all look alike. Right now she could be lying in bed in a geriatric ward yelling that she's Ruth Guthrie only to have doctors and nurses say, sure dear, we know, while they give her another injection of sedatives. 🙄

Maybe some day a movie or tv show will come out about this incident and will show a lot more details about her house.
But right now it bothers me that she was living alone and evidently her security system wasn’t that great!
For as bad as the news says her health is or was wouldn’t you think that she would have a life alert device and maybe some way that help would be sent for by way of her security system if she didn’t have the ability to protect herself from harm.

My thoughts from the start. No one has ever told us how many people were involved keeping that huge house clean and in repair. Look at the pool and the lawn and grounds. All look well kept. That all takes several people on a weekly and monthly basis.

From the get go, the family made repeated statements about her health and how she couldn't survive more than 24 hours without her meds. She was 84 and couldn't walk more than a few yards at best, yet the family has no remorse over letting her live alone in an over 4000 sq foot house with concrete floors in a dark community that was a burglars paradise.

No life alert or any system to warn family if a problem. No maintained security system. No sensor lights. No means of self defense. Nothing!

The son in law drops her off and just stayed watching in his car until he saw the garage door close. Who goes thru their garage door unless they enter in a vehicle? Why didn't the son in law see her inside thru the front door? The no light pollution rule doesn't apply to low brightness front door lights. Her front door entry way should have been lowly lit.

In my opinion, her children are just a bunch of wealthy spoiled brats that couldn't be burdened to see their mother had basic security. Maybe they weren't involved in her disappearance, but they sure didn't do anything to make sure she was secure and safe and had multiple alert systems.

Something is very wrong with this entire show of incompetence, starting with the family neglecting their mothers basic security needs. Has anyone ever heard how the intruder got in the house? In the beginning, they said no forced entry and no photos of any forced entry. Did her doors have secure deadbolts? Were her doors even locked? Did the intruder have a key or find a key kept in the entry? Did they discover forced entry weeks later?

Lots of questions unanswered and the focus is on a massive search and TV news domination, instead of important things that could help find the intruder. Something stinks badly!

What is so important about this case that it should dominate the news for 16 days and use such vast resources?

Why didn't they start checking for DNA on the property when this first occurred, rather than waiting weeks- during which time it was probably contaminated by quantities of law enforcement, and everyone else who's been on the property?
