OK, I'll get into what happened to me, here. I am NOT some paranormal-believing kook, I assure you, but this stuff is very strange, and did happen to me exactly as described:

1. Five years old. Walking to school with Debby C. at 7:45 AM. On the SE corner of 73rd and Clyde. Heard a noise, looked up, saw a huge metal disk, about sixty feet in the air, directly above me. Saw all kinds of mechanical workings on the underside of the disk. Next thing I knew, I was at home, it was 4 PM. Started having vivid dreams about being led through a museum, of sorts, by a little man creature. I was shown dioramas, and asked to comment on them. Kept seeing this shape forming in my mind but I could never see it form to completion. It frustrated me. Not until I saw "Close Encounters of The Third Kind" did I get any idea what was happening with that shape. Never talked to Debby C. about the experience, even though we got together as teenagers for an ill-fated, awkward tryst. Heard, forty-five years later, from a good friend of mine, who lived about five houses down from that corner, that she used to be taken to the apartment building that stood there, on the corner, to see a "doctor." That makes no sense, as doctors had their own offices even back in 1957. Very, very weird.

2. Went to see "Operation Eichmann," alone, when it came out. I was eight years old. The opening scene shows Jewish people herded into gas chambers, and when they are inside the "shower rooms," being gassed. I panicked, leaving the theater in tears. I had always been scared of this old steam laundry, when I passed by and heard the steam hissing and saw it escaping from the old, industrial tilt windows that lined the wall, street-side. I now started putting things together: I had had vivid "recollections" of being a skinny, little kid, naked in a tub, with another skinny kid, as a big man in a uniform, with a Swastika on his arm, prodded both of us with the butt of his rifle, laughing all the time. The movie's opening sequence clicked a switch in my brain. I figured I must have had a past life. Remember, I was only eight years old. I knew nothing about such a thing, at that time. Again, very, very weird.

3. When wife #2 and I moved into the house I'm still in, thirty years later, I used to see this old woman, with long, white hair, wearing a diaphanous, flowing blue nightgown, walking through the hallway, when I was in the den, watching TV. I asked my wife if she had ever seen anyone in the hallway, anyone other than our family, and she accurately described the woman I saw. I figured it must have been some lighting effect from the tv screen, hitting the walls in the hallway. However, one night, when I was watching TV, I thought I saw wife #2 walk by and go into our workout room. I called her name, and then went and opened the room's door to see what she was up to. The room was pitch black, and she wasn't in it! The hair on the back of my neck rose like a spooked cat's fur! The woman only appeared a few more times. This was many years ago.

Alright, everyone, let's hear your unexplainable, true stories. I have a few more, but nothing like the three, above.

I have one. :)

I grew up in a house with four adults, my Mum and Dad, and my Aunt and Uncle. My Aunt and I formed a special bond. She used to say I was the only one who understood her because we were both Leo's. Our birthdays were only days apart and that became a bit of an 'our thing'

When she took ill and was confined to a hospice I was in tears and instead of me comforting her, it was her comforting me. She used to say we all have to die of something.

She was also quite religious which was a great comfort to her believing as she did in life after death. I had always been a sceptic and one day she told me that if she could find a way to come back to prove to me that there was life after death she would do so.

So ... I had a doorbell that played a tune whenever it was pressed. There were eight tunes, all random, not able to be programmed. I've forgotten most of the tunes but remember one was "Oh My Darlin' Clementine" and one was "Happy Birthday to You".

On my birthday, the first after my beloved Aunt had died, my doorbell kept going off by itself, no-one was there, and every time it happened it played the same tune ... "Happy Birthday to You".

I still don't know if I actually believe it was her, but I would definitely like to believe it was. It never happened again, but then again, the doorbell was taken out not long after that eerie experience ... by my husband who had never much cared for my Aunt.

I guess he must have believed it was her. :)

It was the late 80s. My kids and I lived in a small rental house. One night after the kids were in bed, I was washing the dishes and the family dog started barking at a wall in the living room, then she'd stop and wag her tail, and then start barking again, always looking at this one empty area on the wall. I checked and saw nothing there. I thought maybe one of the kids got up and was teasing the dog, so I went to check on them.

When you walk past a person, you know it; you feel them. When I passed that wall, I could feel someone standing there. It creeped me out, but I went and checked on the kids; all asleep, all accounted for. I felt someone when I walked past that wall on my way back to the kitchen.

This happened three consecutive nights - the kids went to bed, the dog barked and stared at the wall, and I felt someone there.

On the third night, I sat at the kitchen table to write my sister about this weirdness, and as I proofread the letter I felt someone behind me. I spun around, but no one was there. As I was sealing the envelope, I heard someone laugh; just a short, loud Haha!; and a voice shouted the name Torsten!

That's my cousin's name.

I sent the letter the next day, but first I called my aunt, Torsten's mother. I didn't know what to say; I just asked her how she was. She started crying. She apologized for not letting me know sooner that Torsten had past away four days earlier. He'd gone out drinking while taking medication, and it killed him. He dropped dead right outside the bar.

That night, when I sent the kids to bed, the dog went in and slept with the boys as usual. I walked past that wall a few times and felt nothing. And I felt nothing there from then on.

Torsten was gone.

This is from a blog I wrote in our local newspaper years ago. And yes, it did happen.

I was watching Celebrity Ghost the other night and their guest was Vince Neil from Mötley Crüe. He was telling his time as a young boy and the thing in his room that lived in the closet. This story got to me as I had similar things in my room on the old house on West Hill.

I was 8 or 9 when these unexplainable things happened to me. I had a long walk in closet where I kept my clothes and most of my toys. This closet had the type of latch that you raised up ang the bar would fit in a groove. Impossible to open by itself.

I had an upstairs bedroom and the only light was moonlight that shown in my dormer window. Every night before I went to bed, I always looked into my closet and made sure the latch was shut. I could see the closet door from my bed and could see the outline of my room. One night, as I was about to fall asleep, I heard a slight noise. I had a small lamp on my bed stand as well as a Airline AM radio from Montgomery Ward. As I lit up the room, I noticed the closet door was open about 3 inches. I relatched the door and went back to bed.

Here is where it gets weird. A very bright light started coming through my dormer window and the closet door was open again. I saw something move across the room. What or who, I do not know. ET, shadow person or ghost.....I still have no idea but it did scare the day lights out of me. This was the start of my sleeping with my head covered up. I don't recall this happening again, but I did add two more bolt locks on the closet door.

I'd have had a lot of trouble sleeping in that room after that.

9yrs-old? 9yr-old boys have enough to be scared about...mainly 10-to-12yr-old old boys and 13yr-old girls, and that's more than enough!

Not me. The things I see are really there, to the best of my knowledge. Maybe I'm just unimaginative.

I do believe that there are things that are "unexplainable" But that doesn't mean they are paranormal. They just can't be explained at the moment. For that reason, I believe there are UFO's. They are just what their
name says, "unidentified flying objects." Not space aliens, etc. Just not identified.

That's always been my take on it as well..likely our own stuff? I do keep an open mind, and I believe in the possibility of it all. The universe is just to vast to say for sure we are the only ones. I just need more than few out of focus photos as proof of ???

Shortly after my toddler sister died, the bottom 3 slats of the venetian blinds in the room where she had slept started shaking violently. I thought the window might be open and checked, but it was tightly shut. My sister was in my parent's basement shortly after my father died and she was in the area right below the living room. She heard soft steps walking around upstairs in the living room. She was sure she had locked the doors but thought maybe she was mistaken and went upstairs to check. There was no one there. My late father walked erect like a former military man, but had a very soft kind of walk, hard to hear him coming. My sister was sure that it was him.

As for ETs, one time I was driving facing west when in the horizon I saw this pinpoint of light slowly moving south. I assumed it was a small plane but as I looked it suddenly sped south and disappeared, too fast to be a ''normal'' plane. I have also read about a tiny village west of Tucson and south of the Barry M. Goldwater military range where people in the summer nights sit on their porches and watch strange and colorful lights in the sky in the direction of the military range. UFOs or military experiments?

My daughter lived with her boyfriend in an old rental house in the country years ago where there were multiple paranormal events they both experienced but eventually moved and it ended. They believe someone lived there with a dog and both died. One story was that my daughter felt a dog licking her ear (no it wasn't her boyfriend lol) and another was that they were sitting on the couch and noticed this bullet sitting on a windowsill (he used to be a police officer) that fell over by itself and rolled the length of the windowsill, then stopped on it's own, turned and rolled off (no wind, no earth tremors). They both saw it.

They had electronics (speakers etc) that would turn the radio on playing classical music when everything was unplugged. There was something about her car in the driveway but I don't remember the details. They also felt the presence of a person behind them from time to time. And their dog would stare at a spot on the wall and bark as if he saw something when nothing was there. He never did that after they moved.

Well i did hear a non paranormal story [somewhat] near here about a dog barking at a wall, of the fruit cellar / room in the basement. To the point where the home owner cut a piece out of the wall...To their horror, there was a skeleton hidden there. Old,old house, old skeleton, I never did hear if the 'mystery' was ever solved .

Some years ago a cousin of mine in Europe was hospitalized and while there jumped out of his hospital window and being that it was only two stories up, he landed injured but awake and in a lot of pain and screaming for help. He was put into a medical coma. He had been ill with a terminal illness. The thing is, his mother who was sadly a terrible person who abandoned two families and her children kept what happened to my cousin from the rest of the family (he was the only one of her children who had anything to do with her). When I finally found out what happened I became so upset and I just started yelling. And just then, the computer nearby me went into a frantic mode. I don't know how else to describe it. The desktop screen started shaking wildly. This had never happened before and never did again after that day. I still can't explain it.

I have three. The first happened several years ago on Thanksgiving. We were all sitting around the table and the doorbell rang. I got up to open the door and know one was there. The strange part is that a very light snow had dusted the steps and surrounding area, there were no footsteps to be seen. My hubby chalked it up to a short in the bell wiring. The strange thing is that it happened the very next year. Snow and no footsteps. The 2nd and 3rd strange occurrences had to do with my Mom and Dad shortly after they passed away. My parents lived close to us and every year,in the spring Dad would help me with my garden. The spring after he passed I was out planting. It was extremely calm, not a leaf was moving.. I had put up a few aluminum pie plates on a string to keep the crows and such away from my newly planted seed. All of a sudden the plates started to swing and rattle. I took it as a sign that my Dad was there with me as I planted my garden. Shortly after my Mom passed my daughter and I were going to make the funeral arrangements. I had a decorative jar in my closet that I kept a few spare dollars. Thinking I might need it should we stop for a bite to eat I reached in to grab the bills. Out came a note my Mom had written in the last birthday card she sent me. It read, thank you for all that you have done for me. I forgot I placed it in the jar but thought it was strange that on that day it resurfaced. It was almost as if she was telling me that again. I like to think it was.

This isn't worthy of The Twilight Zone, but it is creepy, unexplained and it did happen to me.
I've always had long hair. One night when I was in the house alone with my parents who were downstairs watching TV, I went to bed. I was college age at this time. I lay down and fanned my hair out on the pillow as I always Liked to sleep with it that way. I slept with my bedroom door open. I was drifting off to sleep. Suddenly I felt a large lock of my hair lifted straight up off the pillow and allowed to gently fall across my face. I heard a strange low laughter. I bolted upright. Of course there was no one there. The hall light was on and I could hear the TV on where my parents were still downstairs watching it. I shut my bedroom door and slept with it closed for the rest of my life after that.

Two other strange occurrences, in my life: When my beloved first cat died, I was overcome with grief. I could hardly sleep, at night. The second night, after she was gone, I woke up to feel her laying on my stomach and chest, as she always liked to do, and I could feel her warm and purring. I stroked her head, neck and back, and then she was gone. I felt she had given me a last good-bye, and that lifted my spirits and allowed me to move forward. My Mom passed away the day after my birthday. She always called me on my birthday, but this time she didn't. I had vowed to call her the next day to find out what was going on, but then I got the call, at 6:30 AM, that next day, telling me she had died. It was not totally expected or unexpected. She had been ailing. A few days later, while I was in a sort of trance state, my old, landline phone rang. I answered. It was my Mom. I asked her how she was doing, to which she said, "I'm dead, how do you think I'm doing!?" That was the kind of answer I would have predicted from her. She went on to say that things are OK, and I shouldn't worry about her. She said she was moving on. I am relatively certain I dreamed that phone call scenario, but one thing was weird: I had a glass of water by my head, when I was on the couch. When I woke up, later, the glass was by the phone, clear across the room. Yeah, strange things do happen in this world. I like this thread that I started. I am finding that I'm far from being alone in experiencing "weird stuff!"

OK not the thread to read before sleep.
