There is no excuse for giving our country to anyone who chooses to sneak over the border.

The US Border Patrol essentially given a stand down order by the current administration told to release and not track current illegal immigrant detainees.

What is the word 'essentially' doing in this sentence?
Either an order was given or it was not.
If one was given, exactly what was the wording?
And whence did the order emanate?

Now, now......let's leave the logic out.....innuendo and fear mongering is much more entertaining. As an Australian you should know that by now.

Rather than use 'Stand Down' they are 'standing down' through policy. Policy and/or goals come from the administration not station or region officers.

What 'essentially' means is : In the interpretation of the person speaking, what is happening is something like what they are saying, but not exactly in the way they are saying.

Essentially their interpretation could be wrong
