Violence threatened over masks

I don't understand the restaurants being back open at limited capacity...lets see now, you can were a mask when
you're eating can you? After seeing that air circulation chart from the restaurant in China, nope, we won't be "dining in" any time soon, except home, of course. The back deck is the perfect "al fresco" meal for us, too.

Why change the ruling?.. why not just ensure there's police or security at the doors to ensure everyone entering is wearing PPE...
He was just placating the potentially violent. The same thing happened here in Ohio. But, a business can refuse them entry. If they then try to force the issue, authorities can become involved. It's a compromise, but a logical one, in my opinion.

One thing this virus is showing us is that there is no shortage of people foolish enough to deny the risks of this illness. IMO, wearing a face mask should be mandatory when going to a store, etc., and if an individual refuses to do so, they should Not be allowed into the store.
I don't know about your area, but here in CA, masks are required when in stores. That's the only time I wear one - silly as it is. I have to buy food & I'm not interested in arguing with anyone or making a point.

HAHA. They have to cut a hole in the mask so they can eat and fight Corona.......
I do the same thing. Yesterday, I made a sandwich with toothpaste so I could eat & fight cavities at the same time.

Our grocery store has the same rule. No mask, no entry. The store has hired security guards for each store. If I see someone without a mask, I look the other way. I’m not getting shot over something so simple and yet, people want to test the system.

This is the clearest indication that we need to do everything possible to reopen the country. Everybody is sick of this quarantine. Some express their frustration with weapons.

Since over half the population has probably been exposed to covid and survived, we need antibodies tests so it can be confirmed that we are healthy and not infectious. IE. we're no danger to others.

If the vulnerable and the frightened want to continue quarantining, they have every right to do so.

But I think it is worst form of cruelty to lock up healthy people. No rational, reasonable person would do this to another human being.

This virus is bringing out the worst qualities of everyone. I thought I knew people better, but lately I'm appalled at how unfeeling people on both sides of the issue can be to those who disagree with them.

This is 2020 not the dark ages. We have the ability to solve this problem fairly quickly and easily and can reopen our world with no harm to anyone. This is the course we should take IMO.

If you're calling me stupid Aunt Bea, I'm disappointed in you as a person. Maybe I don't belong here if I can't express my views as intelligently and as sensitively as possible.

I apologize if my opinion upset you or if you thought that it was directed at you.

It was not directed at you it was directed at the OP about people who resist the notion of wearing a mask during this pandemic.

My thoughts only:

I don't wear a mask as I don't go into stores. Period. I will not go into any business until my Health Minister says it is ok to do so. I have ordered take out from a restaurant and wondered if even that is safe to do. Am I an alarmist; no, I don't think so; am I cautious; yes.

So if you are allowed to go into the stores without a mask and there is an outbreak, who do you think is going to be blamed? Of course, the person(s) who said you could go into the store without a mask. So wear a mask if you go into the store and if there is an outbreak YOU won't get sick. If there is never an outbreak; well all is good and no harm done.

This is a case of damned if you do and damned if you don't.

p.s. If you have a good memory (I don't) my others posts have mentioned that I have two sons who work in the grocery business. We all in our house take the chance that there is exposure.

i was just thinking that when i read it, why or more importantly how might one eat in a restaurant wearing a mask?... or perhaps they were collecting a take-away?

Restaurants are supposed to limit the number of customers to allow for 6' of social distancing. That's supposed to be 'safe.' I have my doubts.
The 6 ft rule is as stupid as the masks. Droplets from a cough or sneeze travel more than 27 feet. And the non-medical masks protect against particles during construction; not microscopic viruses. And the virus enters through the mouth, nose, or eyes. What mask protects the eyes?
The "experts" know this; they just throw out BS information to appear knowledgeable & helpful & have the "answers." It works with most people. What can we expect them to say? They can't cure this virus or any virus. In fact, they can't cure anything. They can only treat symptoms.

We've probably always had the "typhoid Marys"...and this would obviously be no exception. The issue can be those that are walking around, appearing healthy, but actually are "carriers". Not talking about those that are infected, but those that are actually carrying the virus with them and probably will be, maybe all their lives - who knows - the authorities don't even know what they don't know yet. No test, as of present, is probably sensitive enough to detect this.

Did you know the only virus to have ever been completely eradicated was the Smallpox Virus?!
