Voice TV Remote Control

Does anyone have a voice Remote control, where you change channels by voice rather clickking on a channel number. I was wondering how well that worked and if you have one, how you like it, in comparison with the regular remote controls? Thanks.

I have one on my FireSrick remote, it does a good search of my apps...None on my TV remotes..

Thanks, Ken. I'm looking at moving from ATT/DirectV to Cox Cable. Cox uses the Contour Voice Remote.

Yes, sir, I do remember. Back then, I often wondered if television was worth it, especially in remote areas where outside antennas were necessary.

We have voice remotes from Comcast/Xfinity. I don't usually use it for changing channels, but it's really handy if searching for a certain program, movie, actor, etc. Works very well.

Thanks, C'est Moi. I don't know if Cox control is optional for both voice and manual. Be great if it was.

By the way, i like your signature.

I have comcast and my remote has a voice control on it and I love it. The only time I had a problem was when I asked for The Dick van Dyke show and it responded with sorry we do not accept those words. That's the only time I had a problem. It makes things a lot easier for my Hubby who is always flicking between channels.

Remember when we had to get up and go to the TV and KLUNK, KLUNK, KLUNK through the channels to reach where we needed to be?

Yes and adjust the damn antenna/rabbit ears. I am the oldest of 4 kids and I use to designate my younger siblings as "Official Channel Changers" and make it sound important. That lasted about 3 days until they caught on. :D

I agree! I also have Comcast with the voice control remote and for the most part it works great. It eats up batteries a bit quicker than a regular remote, but no biggie they're only AA's.

My daughter has it at her house and when we stayed there last summer during the fires, hubby fell in love with it. We couldn`t get the remote away from him. I haven`t told him that we can get it here.....

I grew up having to get up and turn the dial. Then the plastic part of the dial broke and I had to turn the stem with a pair of pliers.

So being able to just press a button is good enough for me.
