We Should All "Embrace" Biometric Surveillance, As It Can't Be Stopped

Sea, I know that there has to be drawbacks to the biometric surveillance, one being that the government already know to much about our individual information now. But, after having our bank account hacked and loosing just under $1500.00 four week ago, we have become more receptive to ways to safeguard our finances. We sure can't take anymore hits like that.

I feel for you Ina, that's a lot of cash to lose like that. Around the holidays they talked about all the credit card information that was hacked at stores like Target, etc. Luckily I was paying with a check whenever I went there. Now with those store cards, they have records of each and every item you purchase. I tried not to use them, but then they started having sale items that weren't available unless you used one of their cards. I will buy stuff on sale, and use coupons when I can, because I'm not made out of money, and now that I'm retired, I watch everything even more closely.

As usual.....I think we are behind you in the development of this type of surveillance , although there is now an enormous amount of CCTV.

Generally, I feel that is used for good; prevention of pick-pocketing, street fights, car theft etc, so as long as I can do what I like in my own home without hurting anybody else, I am not that worried..

It might be "impossible" to stop the use of biometric technology, but you CAN make it a bit more difficult for them by actions such as wearing hats or scarves, sunglasses and such, and by the simple expedient of not frequenting places where such tech is used.

Never give up the fight, no matter the odds.

If you do all you suggestrd THEN you become a bigger target for those people.

Hi Seabreeze, I think technology is amazing, it was bound to come to a point where more and more of our privacy is being invaded. The world keeps changing, seems not for the better but although I don't feel these things need to be accepted as reality, but yet I would like to see folks ban together to fight some of the things that would turn us all into "someone's" property where they herd us, number us, and pretty much run our lives. It would be a sad day when two lovers could not be sure they weren't being monitored, or worse, they are matched for the "perfect" breeding of supposedly, a better human-race. Didn't Hitler have that big idea? Weed out all the worthless (worthless to him) and just keep the best of the litter (speeling again;)

1984 and Big Brother is Watching is unforgettable for me, it was like a prophetic film imo.

I can't agree more Phil, and doesn't aluminum foil help with some of that? Ok, too many movies I suppose;) But for example, the Google Glass I think it's called. It attaches to your glasses, and everything you see is recorded, so people, happenings, all recorded. Especially people just walking down the street that may know you, or not, and stop to talk, with no knowledge they are being recorded. So some technology isn't easily avoided, if you don't know it's there. I suppose just like the wire-tapping etc.

For sure though, I don't want to give up the fight. I suppose if I don't want to bad enough, I won't;)

It does not prevent those things you mentioned. It merely records them.
As far as doing what you want in your own home good luck with that.

The foil helps. You have to keep it hidden for best results. A foil liner in your hat and foil undies do a great job of keeping you hidden from the cameras. I also understand that reflective eyewear drives em nuts.

LOL, oh good, foil is still easy to come by. Maybe just start wearing that "full metal jacket" again;)

yeah, well, you should wear more then just your undies at the beach anyhow Phil, geesh:playful:

Well, it was the time of the Speedo, and the salesman told me it would help protect me against UV rays ... I thought I was just being smart and fashionable.

Did I mention my beach hat?

in reality, the people who need it, have enough power and wealth to block it, and the ones who don't-- don't need watching, (or what they are doing isn't raising enough flags to cause problems etc)

Oh that's excellent, you can really throw an outfit together Phil, complete with accessories!! Somehow, I don't think it will look the same on me though, but who cares, as long as those rays get deflected, defected, bounced off, whatever, LOL!!:lofl::thumbsup1:
