Something bit me on the butt about a week ago, longer I think, and I can't get it to heal because I have to sit on my butt most of the day. I can sleep on my side but yet, not much air under the covers.

I am sure it was a spider, because it was like a dime-shaped bump, like a skeetow bite ya know?? Ok, so smart me, I made the mistake of scratching it. Anyway, as we age I think things take longer to heal, but this thing is red and I keep putting either alcohol or hydrogen peroxide on it. And a bandaid part of the time although I know it will breathe better without. I wish I could run around buck naked and give it lots of air but other people live in this house:(

So much for the "lady" part of my username, who cares:( Advice welcome (very scarey to say):anyone::help1:

oh yeah, and if I take a pic of just the booboo, you can't tell the size in proportion to my hind-end. Which could be important in the diagnosis:confused:

Well, I guess if it was a poisonous spider, like the Brown Recluse, that you would have shown serious symptoms by now. I often get spider bites and bug bites, lots of those little buggers where I live and play.

If it was me, I would put unrefined virgin coconut oil on it, and cover with a gauze pad, and do that at least twice a day. Another thing you can use to heal and soothe it is raw unfiltered honey. Both of those things will take care of any bacteria, and help heal. Good luck! I can't avoid scratching either, I'll be bloody and scabby long before I give up the scratch.

Hey Seabreeze, I have coconut oil, yeehaw, yes, unrefined virgin too, got it at our coop, use it for a lot of things, but didn't know about bug-bites!! Thank you mucho!!

it's scarey too because I know things sometimes have to be removed:( I never thought of dealing with only one butt-cheek. Imagine the ramifications:shrug:

If it has been over a week and is not getting any better I would go to your doctor. I hope things turn out ok.

PS you heard the one about the guy that got bit on the butt buy a rattlesnake? Neither of his "so-called" friends were willing to suck the venom out so he croaked. That's sort of the kind of friends I probably have, LOL!!

"What did the doctor say?"

"He said you're going to die".

Finally got that photo for Falcon and Phil on my skeeto bite..

..images.jpgI got a good look, and wouldn't you know it's heart-shaped:love_heart: Just for you two, :lofl:

PS I'll be waiting for my "online, professional diagnosis"

As it appears to be at the junction of the lateral 1/3 and medial 2/3 distance between the prominence of the greater trochanter and the hiatus of the sacrum (GV 2), it looks to be Gall Bladder 30, Huan Tiao.

Do you have any sciatic pain or atrophy of the lower limbs? You might also have bi (painful obstructions) or wei (weakness) of the leg or legs.

Of course I can't perform an entire diagnosis without taking your pulses, reading your tongue, etc., but this would be my initial diagnosis ...
