What are some alternative lifestyles you could imagine that might suit you?

Living in:

Houseboat on a lake
RV, conversion van, or bus
Cabin cruiser along the coast
Yurt
Tree house
Log cabin off grid
Geo Dome
Earth shelter
Motorcycle Nomad
Bomb Shelter
Floating Island
Tee Pee
????????
At one time some of these would really interest me but I’m getting older and have a family to care for which includes dogs. They like a boat ride for a day. We stop on islands so they can relieve themselves. It’s not practical as a way of life for this woman.
Travelling in an RV would be fun though.
I missed that one.
See I miss stuff all the time. Lol

Oh geez. A teepee? I'm afraid I'm not that rugged. My idea of camping is staying at The Radisson. 😊

I like the idea of a houseboat on a lake, but as caroln said in reality it requires a lot of maintenance. I love road trips, so the RV or bus could be fun for a while if it was comfy, but again, it requires a lot of maintenance. In my golden years, I want less work not more.

A bungalow on the beach is about as "alternative" as I get.🌴

This one's pretty simple. I could live here temporarily.

This is more my speed. Time, unlimited. I could live here permanently.

Plan 68480VR: 2-Bed Beach Bungalow with Lots of Options | Beach house ...
Now I could live with either one of those. Great view, low maintenance, and away from the city. Not sure about the stairs thing though, as one gets older. Maybe design a lift from the parking structure underneath. To me, the porch is on the wrong side of the house anyway. Just flip it around.

Actually, there's an option for a deck on the backside facing the ocean. 😉 Check it out!

Yes, much better, although I think I would expand the length of the deck so that it would be accessible from the kitchen or Master Bedroom with French doors or a slider on the M. Bdrm that would open up onto the deck.
Perfect! 😊

I don't have the need for an "alternative" lifestyle. I love our house in Herts and the cottage in Devon. We go abroad twice yearly and so enjoy different lifestyles for a short while and that's enough for me. Besides, I have a little summer house at the bottom of the garden and the decor is Egyptian :)
