What are you cooking or baking today?

Hubby made dough for focaccia bread. Half was made into a loaf & the other went for a pizza.

We put the dough for the pizza into a cast iron skillet oiled up real good with olive oil & topped it. It was very tasty loaded with homemade Italian sausage, fresh & regular mozzarella, onion & pepperoni on one half.

Now I'm too stuffed to mow the grass.

Tonight I made waffles for dinner, which is something I’ve never done. It’s been an age since I last made them and I forgot how to put the waffle maker together. Then it wouldn’t heat up until I remembered to plug it in. Served with maple syrup and fresh blueberry sauce. This easy meal took forever to make.

I should explain I’m not a total nitwit. I had unplugged it when I was trying to get the griddles in, which took forever. The lights go red and green and even when plugged in properly are really hard to see.

I’m thinking I should use it more often. Haven’t decided if this is a useful kitchen appliance or not. It can be stored in the basement or garage right now. It would be one of the first things to go if we had to downsize. We don’t have a bbq so this was supposed to be the substitute and George Foreman griddles were the rage when I bought it. This is the Cuisinart version, plus waffle maker.

Didn't think you were. I've done the same thing with small appliances - can't figure out what I'm doing wrong with clicking all the top pieces into place on the food processor, because it won't run if you don't get everything right. After redoing it a couple of times I think: Duh... you gotta plug it in for it to work. 🤪
