What are you doing today 2023

Scared to wake up this morning; afraid re: Buffy. Felt same way yesterday. Yet I awoke to her loving, purring self. She hasn't seen her x-rays and I can't unknow what I know. Both lungs are so cancer filled there is no black space in the x-ray, only tumors. Her kidneys appeared to have exploded from tiny bean shapes to huge translucent circles.

Yet, as said, she remains her loving, purring self, following me around all day (because I'm so interesting) if she's not napping. Love you Buffy, you're my girl.
 

On my early walk at 6:30 temp was 57, went to local store for some milk/NYT saw 1 person running, 2 people walking their dogs
When I came back, started watering some plants. I'm a member of our garden committee, my 'job' is watering certain plants/ flowers around our community garden
This morning around 8:30 ,I'll walk over to Marcia& Dave's house, once again I'm dog sitting my 'buddy boy', Tage for a couple hrs. Marcia is giving a tour at Darwin/Martin house,I think the tour starts at 9
I've notice when I'm sitting on the sofa with Tage,he likes to put his paw on my arm/shoulder,bends his head down next to me, just wants to cuddle. He seems to like it because his tail starts wagging. This will be the highlight of my day
 
DH home today. I made his favorites for a birthday weekend. Chicken to be finished on the grill, potato salad, Cole slaw from a garden cabbage, pinto beans, cornbread, angel food cupcakes with salted caramel frosting.
We have snap peas and other veggies. Again, to counteract the cake. 😁

Tomorrow morning I'll be leaving early to drive up country to meet up with my daughter, and some friends.. and we're going on a mini river cruise for 1/2 a day.. ..looking forward to that.. :D

Did outside time all day yesterday…..thatched the back lawn and mowed…..general clean up.
And…….
ENJOYED all the birds that were out and about……goldfinches, orioles, Siskins, 7 different kinds of warblers, purple martins…..nuthatches, chickadees, blue jays…these three are here all year round.
Robins are happy, lots of worms.
Of course I took many breaks to watch and listen.

I'm up to....possibly some laundry, maybe some goofing off!!!
Got my mail kid to come tomorrow to do some pick up in
the yard and some other little chores....weather is dreary but
not getting any big rains here...63 deg now....so anyoo catch

@hollydolly See? Now I want some, but all I have is a can of nacho cheese soup. A poor substitute:(

The fam is going to Cracker Barrel for supper for an early Mother's Day since DSIL has to work Sunday. They insist that I go...at 7:30. Ugh. Bedtime for me is 8. So I stay up a little later and go to bed right after eating? More ugh. And I really, really, really don't like going out to eat unless it's breakfast.

It's a sort of nice-ish day and sort of warm-ish. I killed some more weeds. I bet they're sorry they chose my garden instead of somebody else's.

No eggs , no cheese ?>. in the WHOLE house ?
 
I just got out of bed after a 3 hour nap. I was not able to sleep my normal crazy hours. Had to be up for the plumber.

Well, I had the plumber, the gas company and the city water department. First the city, the called me first this morning. I told them I had a call into the plumber but they told me sometimes the plumbers are booked solid. She said let me send a truck out to turn off the water at the street.

They were here in just a few minutes. Saw them at the meter/cut off at the street. Went out and thanked them for coming. Went back in the house. Looked out about 10 minutes later, they had shovels out and were digging. Went back out, yes, the meter had gone bad, they replaced it.

They came to the door awhile later, still something wrong, there was a problem with the main line. They would have to come back and fix it, hopefully next week. They needed a full crew and time to let the neighbors know that the water would half to be turned off to the whole side of the street.

Then they told me they smelled a gas leak and called the gas company to come check it out. Luckily, there was no problem with a gas leak. Next, the plumber arrived. It is the water heater, it has been 13 years, so no surprise. The surprise was cost of about 2400.00 to put in the new one, bring it up to code so it drains outside instead of the bedroom closet. They are coming tommorrow to do that.

I would say that 2023 is the year of the dollar.about 4 thousand for necessary repairs to the car, house and the mower. I am sure glad I quit smoking, I have that money available with no problem.

Quit if you can and put that money in savings, you never know when you will need it!!

It's a beautiful sunny morning. I've got to leave in an hour or so for my my hospital appointment to have both knees and one hip X-Rayed.

Fortunately it's a local hospital instead of one several towns away..which is usual..... so I'll be in and out in not time at all..

Gonna pick up some groceries while I'm out and also take a bag full of food to drop off at the food bank...

I might get my hair cut while l'm out, I'll see how I feel... :giggle:
