What are you doing today 2023

Got woken up at 07:30 by some loud machinery vehicle outside my window. After watching couple YouTube videos, around 09:00 went to get dressed. Daughter was woken up by kitten and as the weather predicted thunderstorms and hail for afternoon, we decided to get the heck out before this mess and go shopping.

Didn't have much on our grocery list as it's the half month and we'd banked at beginning of June.

Sad but true, Betty Crocker products have lost it in favour of Lidl's own brand line. My batch of brownies wasn't up to its usual taste and texture. Never again.

Speaking of taste, we were looking for a box of Chai Tea. Trying new Masala Chai true Indian tea. Amazing flavour (as a spiced Christmas biscuit flavour) with a nuage de lait. (Darn it, just realised forgot cow juice aka milk lol).

Daughter playing Crash Team Racing on box, I've just had a nap and playing with kitten. Received good news from electricity provider I'll be saving aka prices going down from 1 July yippee woohoo!

Later y'all lol!

I walked to the Amazon hub to pick up two small packages. I had intended to look for a denim skirt or pick up a couple of things from the supermarket while I was in that area but by the time I got the text that my order had been delivered, it was 1:00 p.m. I was just about to get off the phone with my BFF and she asked if I was going to go pick them up. At first I thought not but Amazon gives 3 days to pick up from the hub lockers. I didn't feel like going but I know it's supposed to rain for most of the day tomorrow.

I had to quickly change into my "street clothes" because I didn't want to be downtown anywhere near 2:30. I didn't leave the house until 1:30 and it was already busy down there (traffic, shoppers). On the way back, a little fella, who looked to be in his 40s and wasn't much taller than me (5'2") came up to me and asked about where he could find a notary. He didn't speak English well and I felt it would be easier to let him walk with me than trying to give directions because I was going that way anyway. I asked where he was from: Ecuador but he also has Italian heritage on his father's side. He's been here two years. He wants to learn to speak English better since he likes it here and is planning to stay but says he doesn't have time to go to classes. He doesn't have a computer but has a smart phone so I suggested he try YouTube or other online sources. By then we had walked the two and a half blocks, were near the notary's office and I had to head another direction. He was very grateful for my help. I was very grateful that I got home before the mad traffic rush started.

After a not-so-great couple of days, I'm pretty much myself. I'll explain later.

Another rainy day today. Getting tired of not seeing that big, bright orb in the sky. It's supposed to come back tomorrow and last until next Monday. Of course it is! I'm scheduled to work the next four days. Forecast is for rain on Monday. Sigh.

It's time to get dressed and head off to the 🥐 wars. You know, those new croissants that our customers aren't buying. More sighs.

And Newest Lady? She's being reassigned to another store, the same store where Nasty Lady from two employees back was sent. Why? Because Nasty Lady is getting fired. I'mthisclosetofiringmyself!

The Wall Street Journal article that I was interviewed for is supposed to be published on Monday.

BBL.

Glorious sunny day.🌞

My plan was today to go swimming.. ( 40 mile round trip)... so after having my shower, and making my tea..I've just got a message to say that Amazon will be making a delivery today..( no specified time).. ... I'm really mad, because I ordered 2 items , deliberately waited until late last night, and altho' I had the option of having one delivered today I chose deliver both together on Friday... because I knew I was intending to go swimming today...😖...I can't do tomorrow or the weekend for swimming ( when it will be packed out )... and if Amazon deliver when I'm out..unlike all the other delivery companies who will leave my stuff around the back... Amazon just drop it on the doorstep...

I feel for you being awakened by noisy machines. They start early with them around here too, as they did yesterday morning. But I'm up in the middle of the night until I decide to take a nap, so I was already awake when he started (either it was a leaf blower or mower). Then there's the maintainance man who vacuums the hallways and blasts he radio way too early in the morning.

When my husband was in the hospital and my step daughter picked me up so we could visit, she bought me a vanilla-chai tea from Dunkin Donuts. I was hooked, so I bought a pack of 6 Bigelow vanilla-chai tea bags from Amazon. I don't drink it often because it's caffeinated but I sure enjoy the fragrance and taste when I do. Between my son and I, we have a variety of teas in the house. Turns out one of the ones he has is Serendipitea's masala chai. I never touched it, but now you have me curious to try it.

I hope you had a productive day and was able to dodge the rain.

It's almost 5pm... just got back from SWIMMING.... .. 🏊‍♀️ 🏊‍♀️ I decided to go after all.. thinking if Amazon deliver and it goes missing this will be their fault..not mine... so off I went. had to take the long route around to get there because there was a pile-up on the motorway...

The pity of this public outdoor pool is that it allows teens the size of men to take up 2/3rd of the pool playing with footballs.. throwing them above their heads across the pool. Everyone else has to try and swim in 3 lanes.... A baby being held by a woman in the pool got hit by one of the balls and none of the lifesavers sitting up overseeing said or did anything..so next time I'll try another pool and hope they have stricter rules.. but I am pleased I went despite all that.. and the 40 mile round trip..plus some...

On the way back I was so thirsty I pulled into a country pub....and they were doing an all day Carvery so I thought why not just have my dinner here.. so I had roast gammon & roast beef.. with roast potatoes, and broccoli, and apple sauce..

It's really very humid here.. 84 deg.. but so heavy and steamy hot...

Stopped off at the charity shop and dropped a big sack of clothing donation..the at the supermarket on the way home, filled the tank with petrol.. and got a bunch of ice creams.. and bottled water... and Orangeade..

Checked the ETA of the Amazon delivery and it's not coming until between 5.45 and 7.45.. so I managed to be back in time...(y)

Landed in my new place, Monday, at noon.
Movers were at my house, 8 am, Monday……started unloading at 1 pm Monday, all unloaded at 3:00 pm.
There were 3 guys.
I am totally amazed……they were awesome.

Tuesday, yesterday morning, had internet and cable tv, by 10 am.

So…..guess what I’m doing…..unpacking.
Yesterday, did the grocery thing, wasn’t real cheap, bought quick things to make for now…..but I did buy some healthy things…..milk, bananas, grapes.

I’m sure I will love it here…..very friendly people…..everyone says hi…..Micki loves it…..she SEES PEOPLE…..she has to stop at every person. She’s good with the elevator, and going down stares……but not up stairs.

Have been bad…..didn’t get up till 7 yesterday and today.

Micki slept in the bathroom last nite…..thunder storm, rain.

Now……to work on schedule.

Back to unpacking.
I'm so happy that things are going smoothly....moves rarely ever do. Best wishes!

Those cherry tomatoes make me drool! My daughter is bringing over a pot this evening, containing my yearly cherry tomato plant. I have one every year on my balcony, and greatly enjoy the fruits of my labour! I have never grown one as big as the one in your picture, though!

I'm glad you got to swim, even if you had to dodge a football every once in a!

Hopefully I will sell my house today or tomorrow. People have been parading through here for the last four days and the realtor advises that at least two offers are being prepared. Three couples were here today, and two couples have come back for a second look. Every time they come, the house has to be staged and vacated.

Today the rental car I got was "keyed" while it was parked downtown. This adds a complication that was not welcomed, and it is going to cost me some bucks when the car gets returned to the airport. I hope that the moron who did this damage gets the bad Karma that they have coming.

The furniture being shipped to Washington State is on its way and the stuff staying here is being auctioned. I have rented an apartment up there and one car was shipped yesterday. We have airline flights leaving on the 28th of this month and the little dog Daisy will ride with me in the cabin. I have one older car to sell and have a buyer lined up.

Overall, I have been stressed out and am very tired. I also know that the end is in sight.

Pecos, I wish you a quick sale and safe travel. Such an upheaval! I missed everything you must have said about your move . So will you be staying at the apt for the forseeable future or will you be looking to buy? Best of luck, dear Pecos.

I think we will stay there permanently. Life will be a lot simpler not having to take care of a house and large yard. This is going to be a lot like living in a nice hotel.

I'll think about the SOB that keyed your car! 🤬 All you need to know is that my son has a saying "Don't have my mother think about you!!" (you meaning whoever I have reason to be ticked at). He swears that when I think about them they don't fare too well. Of course I'm hoping that everything else goes smoothly; you are certainly a great planner. I hope you have a quick sale at the best price and of course I pray that you, Mrs. Pecos and little Daisy will have safe travels. I know you two have been working very hard for weeks now. It will be here before you know it MDB!! I'm so excited for you both!

Now about my day. I finally mended a denim skirt I'd procrastinated about for weeks. My son helped me give Deja her manicure by holding her still while I clipped and used the emory board on her claws. I gave her a lickable treat in between clips which also helped. I had a long conversation this evening with my cousin during which I gave her revised email addresses of a few family members and we clarified that she will handle sending them family reunion updates. She informed me that it has been confirmed; it will be a two day event. I loaded the dishwasher late, so won't run it until tomorrow morning. Of course I napped, played my games and watched T.V. Have a restful night everyone.
