Well just fell back in from doc's office....LOL...yes I fell just walking into house

head hit this glass desk and so on and on....but here I am...called the firemen to
come pick me up, and my friend was luckily still here to do that for me....ah well,
never said getting old was fun.....odd thing is I'd just told the doc that it was
over a year since I fell !!!!!!!! Took a pain pill, one small cut under left eye, prob
gonna have a black eye....now I'm gonna lay down and try to stay out of
trouble !!!! o_O😥🧑‍🦽

@hollydolly Hm. It does look like bacon, just in thicker pieces. Does it taste like bacon?

Just checked online for next week's schedule. I only work four days. Maybe it'll stay that way. 🤞 Four days is less money, but I won't be so tired and it's not like I'm exactly destitute. Not to mention that means three nights I can stay up later and three mornings that I can sleep 💤🛌 later.

@hawkdon Stay out of trouble? Mmhmm. Black eye?

Very sorry that you fell, today, @hawkdon
That's not any fun!o_O:cry:

And it wasn't the kind of celebration, that you'd want to have,
when coming home after your doctor visit outing! :(

Could you at least claim to someone, that your likely black eye was from the doctor???:sneaky:
After all, you didn't have it, before you went there!
:sneaky:

Still not worth it, though!

I hope that you will not discover more hurting places, in the next 24 hours, after that fall you took.

Today I needed to take 2 naps,
due to not getting enough sleep overnight, and that I had been awake too early this morning....
It wasn't how I wanted to spend the daytime, today, but felt far too miserable to stay up.:cry:

Between the 2 naps, I did make a couple of confusing and stressful phone calls, which I did not want to make,
but I wanted even less, to spend the weekend, sorry I hadn't made them yet,
and having them hanging over my head to do on Monday.

I got some confusing answers, but at least I think I know what the next steps are, and at least I know that I did take those initial steps, today.

Today was an unusual day for me. I slept until 1:20 p.m. I woke up earlier than that twice but couldn't bring myself to get up and get going. I guess my body needed that extra rest. But that made the day seem to go very fast. I did something I hadn't planned...refilled my laundry supplies and soap dispensers from larger containers. I also refilled a couple of pill cases. I did some Swiffer-ing and ran the dishwasher twice because there were large and odd items that wouldn't fit with the first load (I have a countertop dishwasher). We hand wash (or thoroughly rinse) the dishes but even when they are washed, I like them washed in the dishwasher.

I had a nice chat with my BFF, who called me much later than usual, which was good considering I slept so late. I also talked briefly with my honorary daughter, watched a couple of episodes of Blue Bloods and played WWF.

I walked the dogs, cleaned out closets and took things to the thrift store, went to 2 stores, rescheduled a client, nagged the contractor to schedule my sunroom installation, did laundry and some cleaning. I think I will sleep well tonight:)).

This is the one day festival known as Summertime Swing. Today it's back for the first time since the Covid lockdown.
We take the old MG and display it. The journey is quite a distance, we need to leave our home around 8:00am.
The reason why I am still here is. Take a look outside:
Rain.jpg
Not our idea of a fun day, we will leave the youngsters to make the most of it.

@horseless carriage Oh, my! Does that mean you'll miss it?
It does, but we get free entry in return for displaying our old MG car. If you look at the first photo taken in 2019, it's obvious there's no shelter. The rain has eased off now but the forecast is for sporadic showers, heavy at times. It's such a shame, so much planning goes into the event, but it's dependent on fine weather. We love Summertime Swing but not in the rain.

Morning all folks!!!! Well slept damn little due to pain, even tho I did take
a pain pill...ah well...got a shiner this morning...got to thinking this is my
second shiner in 84 yrs, not back I reckon....sore all over also but what the
hay...got to figure what to do about this desk, which is in danger of collapse...
wow what a friday !!!!!! but to all good folks, crap must fall occaisionly....;)

Beginning planning for *possible* autumn trip... had wanted to do Michigan but I'm thinking the Ozarks might be more do-able (and I've never been, so that's a plus). Trying to stay in the southern part of the region; Hot Springs National Park with its Bathhouse Row (the pics remind me of Saratoga's Springs, NY, heyday) is intriguing and Cedar Falls sounds promising. These are both West of Little Rock.

Any feedback/ suggestions?

Falls are scary, I'm glad you're ok even if not top notch this morning, Hawkdon. Falls are high on the list of really bad events for us older folks. I've only had one shiner and it was from a fall, not the last fall either but one about 10 years back when I was still too young to be falling down. The worst thing about it was how long it took that shiner to go away. It was embarrassing. I finally quit explaining and just pretended it wasn't there. :ROFLMAO: I hope yours will go away faster and that your aches and pains go with it.

These last few days for me have been truly annoying and tiring with my apartment problems. Water, A/C etc etc.

You don't need details and I don't wanna talk about them so I am persevering with the ups and downs best way I can.
Right now off for some coffee and a delicious butterscotch scone made by a friend. She made eight and I got them all.
I luv her:love:

Hope you are all having a good day

Four or five weeks ago, I was talking with my blind friend. She said how bored she has been just sitting at home. I told her I'd check with my son to see if he wouldn't mind taking us shopping. Our Saturdays have been busy but today we were able to pick her up for our outing. We went to McDonalds for breakfast then on to Walmart which is a few yards away. It was reminiscent of our senior center outings. Her eyesight has gotten worse so I had to guide her or make sure to stay right in front of her (she could detect my turquoise top). While shopping for her items, I found "safe" places for her to sit in her walker-seat that wouldn't be an obstruction for other shoppers. The place was very busy and congested. We spent almost as much time waiting on line as we did shopping.

She was so thankful and I was happy to be able to do it for her. But I told her next time we'll have to be at Walmart by 8 a.m. if we go on a Saturday. She used to be a neighbor; her children and my son played together. Her daughter, who still manages to help when she can, lives in Florida and her son works crazy long hours. We started out about 10 a.m. and didn't drop her off until 2:00. My son waited patiently for us to finish and was happy to give us our "girl time", as he called it. :D

I put all my items away as soon as I got home, changed into my house clothes, called my BFF, watched a little TV then wound up taking a nap. I'll be mending a skirt and sorting laundry because I'm thinking about washing clothes in the middle of the night, since rain is forecast for the next couple of nights during my normal laundry hours.

We shall be off to church shortly, after which, it will a pilgrimage to her favourite form of retail therapy. Fabric Land. The lady has just finished my new trousers, they are at the dry cleaners at the moment, only for pressing, I will collect them tomorrow. Now a new project is being measured ready for cutting out, but I have no idea what!
