What are you doing today 2023

I forgot to mention that today's forecast is a Level 3 (that is, 3 on an ascending scale of 1-5) storm watch. Meaning that we're supposed to get rain of biblical proportions, hail, tornadoes. Okay, then. It's supposed to start around 5ish. If you don't hear from me again, it will mean that I landed in Oz.

We've had a nice enough day, so far. It's much cooler today (finally!), around 83°F/28°C.....very comfortable! This morning was cloudy, we checked fences and walked around until the sun came out. Then we went in and got a few things done around the house.

This afternoon, we took our lawn chairs down to the pond. We sat there in the shade, drinking strawberry lemonade beer and watching the dragonflies zoom around!

Now, Dio has the grill started. He's cooking some sausages for dinner, and they are almost ready. When we are done with dinner, we will watch the very last episode of The Mentalist. Both of us are going to miss that show!

Played. Golf with my friends. We realized on the way that the bridge was taken out by a storm. So we had to detour. Saw 2 18. Wheelers backing up slowly, say 100 yards every ten minutes. They had maybe 9 miles to go so they could turn around in the country. All the roads other than the main highway are 1 lane. We were 15 minutes late, looked for a place the 18 wheelers might turn around. Other than one farmers drive & yard nada. We asked him and he said sure if they can keep out of the deep ditch. Let’s let the drivers figure it out was a thought. Water has no mercy when it gangs up on ya.

It's always good to see you, here, trila!🙋‍♀️
And that is very nice of both of the two of you,
(and friendly and generous, too)
to take some special beverages out there by the pond, to the dragonflies!
🤩🤩👍🤭😁

Meh. The rest of the metro area got pummeled. Us? Not so much. Not much wind. Not much rain. No hail. It did get dark and maybe 25mph wind for a few minutes, 30 minutes of rain. That was it. It has passed through and is done.

Somebody 'splain me how it makes any kind of sense that Zoom is insisting that employees return to the office. What? The whole point of Zoom is to carry on via video. From wherever.
What?😂

I went downstairs to do laundry at 2 a.m. When I took the clothes down, it was barely drizzling. When I went down to take them out it started pouring. I wound up having to wait downstairs for a little while during which time I played Words With Friends. As soon as I decided I'd chance it and come back upstairs, the rain slowed down. But it had rained hard enough that I splashed through a puddle. I can't remember when's the last time I did that.

My apartment dryer holds a good amount but I was drying clothes for approximately 3 hours since I do double loads and half of them were heavy items (plus I let them dry a bit longer if I'm doing something that prevents me from taking them right out when they are ready). As usual I put all of the clothes that go on hangers away. I hung my slips up to air dry and put them away. I'll deal with the little that's left tomorrow.

I had already scooped out the litter box earlier but decided to wash it out and add fresh litter this evening. I'm taking this opportunity, while my "little girl" is sleeping to be on SF. If she was awake, she'd be jumping up on me (nails out) and batting at my fingers while I type or trying to type herself. 😺

Had a dreadful sleep last night because I knew I had to be up early for an ultrasound. The hospital has decided to start booking tests on stat holidays to catch up with the backlog. It was really dumb of me to allow myself to have a nap in the afternoon. I’ll be up all night. At least I can open the windows tonight; the AQI from the smoke is much lower.

I woke up like it's a work day and couldn't go back to sleep so got up and made some coffee, sat outside for a while and now watching local news. Lots of storm damage. There are probably a lot of twigs and small branches littering the back yard, but I won't know until it's light outside.

Maybe today the rest of the mulch can get spread. Maybe.

Lots of weather reports in here this morning. I enjoy following the weather. It's only 52 degrees this morning and cool in the house. The AC didn't run even once yesterday. I know it's way too early for fall but it was a nice break before the temp gets back in the 80s tomorrow. It should be only 75 today. We had good rain on Saturday but it had big hail with it. I'm not sure if I will need a roof inspection or not.

Katlupe, I didn't know bunnies ate bananas. Yesterday morning my cats got very excited over a wild bunny that came to sit by the porch steps and watch them staring out the door. They love to watch the squirrels and often see bunnies but not usually that close.
Rabbit's favorite food of all is banana. I have to limit him to a small chunk every morning.

Ha. Yesterday I wanted to know why Zoom would demand that its employees return to the office. Just now I saw a report on TV about Zoom demanding that its employees return to the office. Am I clairvoyant? 😂

a little bit better but still sore to touch...oh well...got some groceries to order
