@hearlady, my 2 year old grandson is the same way. I cook his oatmeal with apples and berries, then whirl it in a mini processor with some unsweetened applesauce and a little ground flax seed. He loves it. If the fruit is chunky in any way, he spits it out and hands it back to me.

I do the same with vegetables - put them in a tomato sauce, puree it and put it over pasta or baked potato chunks. He eats it just fine, but not otherwise.

Maybe that will work for your GS, too.

Yes! I made him a smoothie and he sucked it right down. 😊 I think teething had to do with it too.

Vacuumed, shifted laundry from washer to dryer, and....had that coffee that I promised myself I'd stir with the last chocolate spoon.

DD expects to be home about 2:30, and we're going to B&N to get the calendar that @hollydolly doesn't think I need. But as I said earlier: I've always done it that way.

Did I tell y'all that DD and DGD gave each other calendars? Different versions of "F*ck It!" Hysterically funny. Wish I had one like that but not likely that as venerable an institution as B&N is would carry such a thing, darn it.

you're a troublemaker granny.. gigi.. I didn't say you didn't need it.. I just asked why you need it when you have a calendar on your computer...

My oldest son and his "girl" (in their 40s now) find some really wacky and sarcastic stuff like bumper stickers and t-shirts too.

I'm hoping to go out tomorrow..I haven't been out since I had the cortisone in my knees done on the 21st.. btw it looks like this might not have worked. I had pain relief until yesterday ( 6 days), then suddenly as I climbed the stairs both knees suddenly gave out on me very painfully.. :( I'm really sad about this because I've been very careful not to do any kind of serious exercise, thinking that after a week I can start to exercise,.. back to my walking and get some weight off..

Anyway I'm hoping to go out tomorrow, because the forecast says the rain will stop until it starts again on Saturday and it will be sunny.... ..I need to return a silk blouse I bought before Christmas , but it means driving into North London....plus I need to stock up on basics..milk bread, fruit etc.. before the stores close again for New Year

Because that's where I keep track of my hours at work and other things. When I'm sitting in my kitchen sipping coffee, it's right in front of me where I can see what's coming up. Besides, there's that age-old reason: I've always done it that way ;)

And, yes, there's a calendar on my computer and another one on my phone, but with the one in the kitchen, I can see it without having to do anything...like pull out my phone or get online.

So there.
I also love a paper calendar hanging in my kitchen with all my appointments and then I have a paper appointment book that I carry around with my professional appointments. I tried to use the phone calendar and it was a big failure. I would forget to put stuff on it or look for my appointments.

See @hollydolly? I'm not the only one. And I'm another who forgets to put stuff on my phone/laptop calendars.

Hey Capt, Lightning - when are you guys going to go it alone? I've only been to Edinburgh and Glasgow, but I'd of loved to see more of Scotland.
Mustn't get political, but a bit of background info...
Scotland is a relatively small country with around 5.4 Million population and already has a well devolved government. It has it's own laws, tax, education and health systems. However, constitutional matters remain with Westminster.

Scotland is a country where the vast majority of people live in cities and towns, but this only accounts for about 2% of the land area. There are also approx 93 inhabited islands. Because of Scotland's unique nature, there is an argument that Scotland should be able to govern itself in the best way for Scotland.

On the other side, Scotland, Wales and N.Ireland are dependent to a large degree on financial support from Westminster and it may be unlikely that an independent Scotland could survive with being part of a wider community.

I always have a year planner pinned up in my kitchen. I put all important events on it so that I can see 'the big picture'. I also have a few calendars in other rooms. I never put stuff on my laptop calendar and I don't think my phone has one. Anyway, it's switched off 99% of the time.
I have a Blackboard in my kitchen where I write dates of important events.. also my notes in my phone...

I've faffed about long enough with making necessary plans (health/monetary/organizing-decluttering, etc) I'm tired of procrastinating and getting more down on myself as I do (procrastinate).

Got out the planning notebook and brainstormed. At least if it's in writing, however rough a draft, I'm making some progress.
Now to break these things down into manageable "to do" lists

I'm going back over some of the inspiring things I've written down over the months too... "Avoid 'Complexity Bias' (More complex = better... as an 'overthinker' I fall into this) Simple solutions that pair with Natural Inclinations work best"

Don't focus on what life looks like from the outside..."Are you comparing your 'rough draft' with someone else's 'fully edited version'?"

"Despite doubts and setbacks, I kept showing up to do the work each doy... There are no shortcuts in life...Nothing replaces patience and consistency."

I have the paper calendar too. A book type. I just prefer it. Old habits die hard I guess. I use my phone calendar when I'm out, but always find it awkward and forget to check it.

I just picked up a paper calendar courtesy of the grocery store in our little village, one will be arriving in the mail soon from my Credit Union, and I also have a pocket calendar that I keep by my PC. I only have a landline which is used for phoning and flip phone which isn't used for anything.
