What are you doing today 2023

Well, the weather was not very good for celebrating Imbolic yesterday, but we did go for a shot walk in the afternoon.

During the day, I did sew the next part of my "Kindle Bag" but now that project is on hold. Would you believe that I "lost" the package of trim that I just bought?!!! My whole life is like my freezer!!!!

It might be nicer out today. If so, we will probably start cleaning up some of the broken trees and various damage from last weeks ice storm.

But that will be later. Right now I'm going to finish my coffee and then make breakfast.

Good day to all!!!

Assuming he's in his typically good mood, I'll take the baby on a grocery shopping run this morning. If he's cranky, I'll delay shopping until tomorrow (when he's not here). Not much else on the schedule today.

When the pandemic restrictions began early 2020, I stopped coloring my hair, grew it out (not nearly as big a deal as I'd expected, and began going to a new hair stylist because I wanted a change. However, the new stylist is much further away (30 minute drive vs. 5) and much pricier because she's in a chichi part of town and swanky salon. So now I'm regretting my decision to leave my former stylist, Lisa.

So yesterday I called Lisa to make an appointment for tomorrow, giving her a vague lie/story that my DIL had been doing my hair during the pandemic. (My DIL is a licensed beautician but doesn't work in the field. Lisa knows this from talking to me over the years.)

It's weird for me to return to a former stylist or any service person because I worry she'd feel that I'd been disloyal - kind of like I'd cheated on her. That's why I felt like I needed to make an excuse. Is it just me, or do other people feel like this? And has anyone here ever had clients leave then come back? If so, how did you feel about that?

Sounds like your aunt's skillset was, as they used to say, narrow and deep: Rag rugs and biscuit topped casseroles.
I just remembered something...that particular aunt? She was a former dancer...ballet...and had a studio where she taught. She was my ballet and tap teacher. How could I forget 13 years of studying ballet?

So she had three things she did well...dance, rag rugs, biscuit-topped casseroles.

I've been wondering for years what to do with my jar of old buttons.
I think this is the unexpected item that your family finds at the end …. and they keep it.

I feel like I’m being disloyal too, even if I just go for one appointment elsewhere and return.

Says 400 IUD of vitamin D. I already take 1000. Will I get vitamin D poisoning or will it go in one end and out the other?
Probably neither is my wild guess, but the fat-soluble ones don't just go out; therefore I myself, would probably cut down on your dose, ....
rather than up, which is what that paperwork assumed you should do. :rolleyes:o_O:geek:

AND yes, I think you already get enough exercise!

These forms definitely do not take into account, our individual lives. Just put in the "condition" (I wish they'd enter "Human" )
and it spits out the same "remedies" for all of us, nowadays.

I've had it happen (as a business person), and didn't give it a second thought. People have all kinds of reasons for doing things, including reasons that are out of their control. It's not a personal or professional insult.

I've done it myself. A mechanic was extremely kind to me, really above and beyond, when I was in a bad fix. Shortly afterwards, my car was serviced by another mechanic, because someone else made the arrangements.

When I returned to the first guy, I showed him the bill from the second guy so he'd know what work had been done. I did feel a bit weird about it, but what are you going to do? At least I went back to #1, and he made lots of money off me over the years.

I had to ask my Electronic friend what Groundhog day was... so I'm asking, how many of you have been to watch to see a groundhog check out it;s shadow today ...and how many of you live where groundhogs do ?

I live where there are groundhogs but have only seen them emerge on videos on Groundhog Day. Our southern groundhog is General Beauregard Lee. It's overcast. He didn't see his shadow so wasn't frightened back into hibernation. Therefore, spring is right around the corner, or so they say.

When I was a kid living so far north that we called it South Canada and was told that the groundhog saw his shadow, was scared back into his hole, and there'd be six more weeks of winter instead of it being right around the corner, I simply could not understand. To us, six more weeks of winter was right around the corner...mid-March.

Think about it, up there the sNOw was (usually) gone by mid-April, the ice on Lake Superior was (usually) gone by the end of May/first part of June.

Six more weeks/right around the corner...same thing in the north.

Down here, right around the corner is a few weeks.

The garden centers will start stocking up on cool weather flowers before the end of Februdreary.

Nope, sorry, can't do it. Every January and February I feel I just can't go on, except at the most basic level. Last year was my first winter in the north, and it (the feeling) lasted until April.

I'm not sad, not suicidal. Just unmotivated. I fight it and deny it for as long as I can. Vitamin D, SAD lights -- nothing helps. So today here I am, still in bed. Been living on junk food for a couple of days.

I know I'll regret it. But here I am.

I've seen many a groundhog, hobbling and lurking and lumbering around.....Spring, Summer, and Fall...and munching on vegetables while growing, and on plants in gardens....

I like all nature, but not enough to want to ever WAKE a groundhog during the rare time of year, and winter the only season, when they have a good, long sleep!:geek:
