Really nice buttons can change the look of an outfit. I’ve replaced some. Wandering around a notions store in Germany, I saw some really beautiful buttons. There’s a local clothing store where the owner replaces buttons to upgrade the look.

Come to think of it, I played with buttons, too. I'd sort them by size, color, shape, and I'd put all the same kinds together and just generally fiddled around with them. Sometimes they'd be "people" that I moved around. Hm. I'd forgotten about playing with buttons.

Imagine kids today doing that? Not unless they could do it on their iPads...

Today's been kind of a rough day... I've been feeling 'puny' the last few days, not overtly nauseated but just BLAH. I went with Ed to the senior citizen's get-together. Sorry, it was (for me) not a success for various reasons. My upset tummy made everything on the potluck table look unappetizing. I finally put a small serving of udon noodles on my plate but there were only spoons available for utensils/cutlery by the time I got to the front of the line. You ever tried to eat udon noodles with a Spoon? ::snort:: I told Ed, "I'd do better with chop sticks" We left kind of early.

Came home, took some meds, napped. Still out of sorts; eating very lightly (chamomile tea and a few whole wheat crackers). Started a new knitting project.

Feel a little better now; hopefully that will continue. I hate feeling nauseated.

A good day here again. I decided to go take a drive to the casino....glad I did. I had fun, a buffet meal, and came home with more money than I left with! My kinda day!
Tonight it's a snuggle down time with hot cocoa and Bailey's Irish Cream...tonight it's getting down brutally cold, about 2°, not counting the wind chill, and a high of 7° tomorrow.

Cocoa and Bailey’s— how decadent! ❤️

Hope you feel better soon CinnamonSugar...
looking forward to hearing how your descant rehearsals go :)

Installed a new heater blower motor in the Explorer, and rebuilt the old one and put it on the shelf. Now I'm making new supports and bracing for the shelf in the big parts washer out of 1x1/8" angle iron. Turns out it didn't like me putting the 300lb mill table in there.

What was your first clue?? Only teasing you, I bet you swore under your breath when it fell.....

Been living on junk food for a couple of days.
There's your problem, North. Junk food.
Get up, go to the store and get some fresh green things, some tomatoes, pears and cheese.
Get a very expensive large steak, even if you're vegan.
Especially if you're vegan!
Make a salad, heat up the broiler and broil your steak as you like it and dive in.
Have red wine with it.
Cheese and pears for dessert.

You'll feel much better.

Soda crackers work better Cinna... it's the baking soda that settles. Also ginger.
Feel better. 🌹

Thank you. I've been exercising and eating healthy for a long time. Doesn't prevent the winter blahs.

It's weird for me to return to a former stylist or any service person because I worry she'd feel that I'd been disloyal - kind of like I'd cheated on her. That's why I felt like I needed to make an excuse. Is it just me, or do other people feel like this? And has anyone here ever had clients leave then come back? If so, how did you feel about that?

I feel like I’m being disloyal too, even if I just go for one appointment elsewhere and return.
I had my own salon for 18 years in my home and a wonderful clientele during that time. At times a client wanted to try another stylist, or I was on vacation, or someone else was recommended to them.
If your stylist is a true professional, she'll understand and not take offense at all. In fact, I would bet she's glad you've decided to return to her. It means she must have pleased you earlier. Just be pleasant, and any awkwardness will quickly pass.

Heading to the gym this morning. Circuit training then weigh lifting. Not that I lift a lot of weight...
You GO Rob! 🏋️‍♂️
Today I:
~Started deleting unwanted photos and files from my computer and apps (what I call digital cleaning).
~Finished putting away laundry from a couple of days ago.
~Balanced my check books and wrote out my carrying charge (HOA fee) payment.
~Had a nice visit with my youngest grandson, the birthday boy who turned 18 today. My son brought him by before they headed to the diner for his favorite meal (chocolate fudge pancakes).
~I sent “T” more photos to use in my video. She called this evening so we could further discuss the concept at which time she let me know what adjustments she’ll be making to the photos.

Well, it didn't really fall. The inner shelf just sort of folded up and pulled two of the sheet metal supports out. I new I was pushing the envelope. The new supports, and braces should make it pretty bullet proof, and that table is probably the biggest thing it will ever see. And I don't swear, more of a vocal, free flowing elimination of negative energy, approaching a new level of angst poetry.

What was your first clue?? Only teasing you, I bet you swore under your breath when it fell.....

Yesterday was an eventful day. We booked tickets to see the play "Relatively speaking" in Aberdeen. We drove into town to catch the bus and at that point Mrs.L said that she had forgotten the tickets. All was not lost as she had bought a basic "smart phone" and I had sent her the tickets to test it. Now all she needed to do was to work out how to retrieve them. She eventually worked it out, so that was fine.

The play was excellent - witty, well acted and quintessentially English - a slightly P G Wodehouse feel.

We caught the next bus back and endured a terrible trip. The road "improvements" (which were 2 years late due to Covid) caused delays for traffic leaving the city and the bus was used as a local commuter bus meaning many stops and starts until it reached the outskirts.
After a hair raising ride back to town (obviously trying to make up time) we got back to town and on arriving home, found the entire area experiencing a power cut!
How to cook dinner? Out to the campervan and cook it there. The oven is a bit slow, but got everything cooked and ate by candlelight.
At least we have a log fire so we were warm.

Power came back on before 9 pm and we got the central heating on.

I hope today is a bit quieter. No plans, but I'm sure that we'll find plenty to do.

Well I was supposed to be going for an MRI at the hospital this morning, but I got a call cancelling it and they've changed the date until later in the month. Pretty irritating because I had made plans all around this hospital visit today... but hey it can't be helped, and one good thing to come out of it is that the next date is to have the MRI at a hospital..still in the next county, but much closer to me than the hospital where I was due to be today...

Good morning, boys and girls. I'm up and prepared to go churn out croissants 🥐

It's raining again, of course.
Sunny here GeeGee.. actually I was quite looking forward to going to the hospital because it's in a pretty part of the next county, and I knew it was going to be sunny today.. but hey.. my back hurts anyway, so probably best I don't drive..
