Good Morning everyone on a Friday...
Well, today my girl comes home from Florida, She's been gone 10 days... and cannot wait to see her. This is the longest we have been apart... Been whipping around and cleaning up the house, not that it was dirty or anything, but you could tell I've been here by myself... Lorie's flight comes in at 2:00, so leaving at about noon to drive to Ottawa... Her flight to get to Florida was a half hour early...

Yesterday, I did the gym for almost 2 hours. Then grabbed a Tim Hortons, went to the water, and got two watch 2 BIG ships to go by... One was from Cyprus and going to a city here in Canada for some steel in Hamilton... That ship was 199.9 m long, and 26m wide. The other ship I saw was 225m long, and 27m wide. And it was on it's way to Montreal

So, that sums up today and yesterday...

Yes, I got my crew cut! It might be just a tad too short (!!!!), but luckily, my hair grows like a weed! It will be perfect in no time at all! Even so, I LOVE it!!!

A big dead 50ft. oak tree fell at the edge of the yard a few days ago, so today I got the chainsaw out and cut it up. There should easily be a weeks worth+ of winter firewood in that big thing. Now, relax a bit, then take a good shower.
Even though it's a lot of work, at least you got it done right away. One of my favorite outside jobs is to stack firewood, as Dio splits it! It's good exercise, and requires minimal thinking on my part. 😉

I bet you'll sleep well, tonight!

On my morning walk around 6:30 was a tad nippy 28 when I went to buy store to buy local paper
As I was here at SF my friend, Mary called to say our friend&resident Thora passed away last night,it was a blessing but still sad. We've lost 3 long time residents within the past couple of yrs. My late next door neighbor, Pat 2 yrs ago,Vince{ for yrs was the chairman of our Garden Comm} last Aug, now Thora. I'll always remember her generousity during Covid, when she offered to take me with her to local grocery store,Tops we both liked Fri mornings I got to know her better on these trips as well She always left funny messages on her answering machine which made me chuckle
My mid morning walk around 10am the sun was out but was still cold around 30 with a bit of a breeze, walked 2 blocks to local co op for couple items. After lunch walked did my loops twice around apt complex
Thora sounds like an amazing person. I'm sure she will be missed by all who knew her. I'm sorry for your loss. 💔

Went with DD to get new shelter kitty. I love him! He's an orange tabby named Nutmeg.🐈🐱

DS and husband didn't get here for lunch after all. Car died. It's not in intensive care; it died. It was an honorable death, though...more than 200K miles and 19 years old. They'd started out, hoping it would make it from their house here and home again, but nope. Just a few blocks from home when they knew the end was near but made it home without having to be towed.

They're probably going to sell it for junk because parting it out is a giant PITA and a lot of work.
Welcome, Nutmeg!! Be sure to train your people, right from the beginning...don't let them get away with anything! 😺

Haven’t been on much this week due to binge watching and shopping. Our weather is finally getting warmer and dryer..no rain for next 10 days, actually don’t think it will rain much anymore.
Looking ahead Easter looks beautiful, 70 and sunny.

Now I have some catching up to do on the forum.

If anyone interested I binge watched Yellowstone, 1883 and 1923.

Hello dear peeps..

Just got in from Hospital visit
My blood is clear and Dr Kang tells me after 5 years clear I am considered cured so he has signed me off.

I won't be seeing him any more but he is sending a letter to my family Doc to make sure I get regular checkups which at this age doesn't happen any more. He will advise him on points to check for recurrence but he said very unlikely.
So we said goodbye and had hugs.
Thanks for all your good wishes and prayers.

Been a long day for me so off to bed for a nap......

. I'm so happy for you!

I did, too...but only through season 4. I have to get them from my library, and they are always a season behind.

Great show!!! When I finally do get season 5, the rest of my life will come to a standstill! I can hardly wait!!

DS is on a business trip and DDIL just phoned. One of their dogs has been doing poorly recently. Last night he had bloody diarrhea all over the kitchen.

She's waiting for the veterinarian to open this morning, but the dog is too large for her to wrangle with baby, so I'll watch the baby while she, DH and the dog go to the vet. It seems likely that the dog will need to be euthanized.

DH is sick with some kind of chest congestion so we had to cancel/postpone an RV trip to San Diego that was supposed to begin today. Hauling a 5th wheel through LA traffic requires full concentration and setting up at campsites takes plenty of energy. Even more important, seeing my BFF who lives in SD was our prime motivation for this trip. Unfortunately, her health is fragile so exposing her to any illness would be irresponsible and unthinkable.

So I'll be home instead of swanning about in SD for five days. Such is life.

British airways have just gone on strike today at London Heathrow Airport for 10 days... just when so many people are getting prepared to fly away for Easter...

My neighbours across the way who moved in about 10 years after me.. died within a very short time of each other ( younger than me )... and the house was cleared out last week. Since then the new owners have had the landscapers in completely destroying some beautiful shrubbery and dozens of yards of shaped Hedging.. to make a Drive.

The noise has been continual from morning until night ..and even with the rain we've had all week and today torrential, they've not stopped. I can hear it even through the closed double glazed windows.

Now they've got a Bob Cat working on the land... and it's very odd to see all the hedging completely gone.. all the hard work of the neighbours for years just gone in a few days

@hollydolly that’s frustrating. Console yourself that they wouldn’t be the type of people to look after those hedges if they’d kept them. Fingers crossed they replace them with something attractive to keep up the value of the homes.

adding. Did the very old fellow pass away and did his son sell that house.

It’s time for me to get back in the habit of making a list of things that I need to do. When I went to bed, I had lots of things in mind. I know I haven’t done them in my sleep. Making soup and going to the store for cashews is all that I’m thinking right now.

Jules can you believe he's still alive as far as I know.
His son text me a few weeks ago to say his dad was in a nursing home, and just lying waiting to die. Isn't that very sad ?.. can you imagine ? ... the house hasn't been sold, there's subsidence that has to be dealt with first..and since September when the old neighbour left the house altho' been renovated inside hasn't had any work done on the outside..

ETA when I moved into this house in my mid 20's vast majority of my neighbours were already in their 40's or even 50's.. and very few have moved in over 40 years, so of course now I'm seeing them die off one by one and be replaced by young families and so the demography is changing very quickly
