April fools was on me this morning…..always fill my coffee maker with water and coffee the nite before, for the morning.
Had my first cup…..seems to be a little weak…..makes much better coffee, when you put coffee in it 😉🙃🥴.
April fools for me or senior moment.🙃🙃🙃.32627E61-83B6-4FB9-9888-064B20858644.jpeg

I am staying inside and dry. That nasty storm that was to the West of us has arrived with wind, lightning, and heavy rain. I is a good day for washing sheets, doing paperwork, and napping.

Across the river, the Master's Golf course had other plans for today and I imagine those have been postponed. LOL, assuming they are sane, and golfers are often not. It is flat nasty out there.

I'm home. I'm exhausted. There are flowers that want to be planted, but I'm too tired to bother.

We had a heckuva storm this morning. It was nice because it kept the shoppers at home until around 11 when the sun came out. Except for the lady who ordered three dozen croissants for pickup at 7 this morning. She was there promptly at 7. Nobody told me. Who did they think was going to produce three dozen croissants? Geez.

All was not lost, though, because I set up the trays yesterday before leaving and put them in the cooler to thaw overnight and slapped 'em in the proofer at 6. They were done and cooling at 7am so the nice lady came back later. Her name was Mrs. Wright. That means she married Mr. Wright! And she wasn't a Karen, thank heaven.

Our new(est) person was assigned to her old job yesterday and today because she's "training" a new employee who doesn't even come in until 10am. Tomorrow is still up in the air. We need her now!

And Karma...our work week starts on Sunday, schedules made and available on Friday at noon. Remember New Lady? The one who doesn't "need the money" and has plenty, including disability? The way our system is set up, her schedule posted to our store's schedule because she's not officially at the other store until tomorrow. She's scheduled for 30 hours. Wait until she discovers that she'll be kissing her disability bye-bye. LOL What's more, if she doesn't report it and it isn't caught for a while, she'll have to pay it all back. Judging by what appeared to be her lack of savvy (or even intelligence?), she's very likely unaware of this little hitch in the gittalong. More LOL

Wut wo. Now Karma might get me! I shouldn't be smug...

You know you've been a nurse too long when you are watching a suspense/mystery tv series in which the lead character has been attacked, left with a severe head injury and is now in the community hospital on the vent and the *one thing* you notice is Someone Left The Bed Side Rails Down!!! (A definite no-no)

Poor me.....I am groaning and moaning today, woke at 4am with
pretty damn good case of all-over pain from arthritis or whatever....my shoulders are aching too much, put a cream on them and then a pain patch on each shoulder....when I was about to put poligrip on my dentures the cap slipped out of my hand and down the drain....luckily stopped about 4 inches down, so I got a wooden skewer, put poligrip on end of it, and
was able to stick the cap and pull it back out!!!! THIS has been
and is a day from he!!l.....then the cable and net went out so sat
around moaning for couple hrs till it all came back on....if it sounds like I'm whining i am !!!!!!!!:(:devilish:

Yesterdays happenings….
Accountant was here…..did my taxes…..I don’t need to second mortgage my house, only owe $89.00.
He went through my OAS application, just checking to make sure I did all the right stuff…..I did.
He sees that I’m eligible for GIS, so he did the application for me….how much….beats me….the wonderful government decides that.

Todays happenings…..
Usual chores….got a fill on some meds, picked a few things at the drug store, since I was there…..got milk and grapes.
Had some photo copying to be done….but….the place I always go to was closed…..the NERVE of them.😉😉😉…..try for Monday.
If…..
We’re not sNOwed in…..disturbance to start 9am tomorrow through to 4am Monday. CRAP !!!!!!!😤😤😤.

Yesterday was fine. Completed and mailed my taxes. Didn't clean the bedroom though.

Okay, it's noon, I guess I should start my day.

In-person Spanish practice is canceled this afternoon, so I'll do the bedroom and the laundry. That will be enough, until I talk to my long-distance Spanish partner this evening.

If I have any spare time, I can read the book club book, or how to set up the telescope.

Still not exercising. Not sure how long this low period will last. I'll make a point of going out on the balcony, at least for a bit. It's cold out, but the natural light feels good on my eyes.

DH has a wicked cough - not Covid, we checked. A stay-at-home weekend will give him a chance to recuperate.

Got some laundry working in the machines and a couple of interesting books calling my name.

Accountant sent our tax info, we owe $4850.00. Not as much as we'd feared because our business was surprisingly strong in 2022.

I know exactly what you mean... Due to working in Television and Radio.. for many years, I'm the worlds worst critic as a viewer, I drive myself mad.. much less other people. I spot every continuity error, and so many factual errors, I can't watch Dramas at all because so much is wrong..lol..... and my estranged whotsit, spots every technical error because he's a high flier within the Entertainment industry and has been since leaving school... ..'' Yikes'' there's a Boom shadow in shot.. etc..... it's safer to watch quiz shows and sport.. :ROFLMAO:

You will be happy once you get there, just take your time and be careful. Have a good time, eat something you normally don't eat at home. I always try to pick things I have a hard time fixing at home.

Talk to her about the problem text you got from your ex. I know she can't solve it but she can listen and let you get things off your mind. It will be an excellent visit, I know I always feel lighter after I spend time with my son.
Oh I do try always to eat food I don't cook at home, but in all honesty I'm a bit of a hedonist food wise at home, because I kinda like to make good quality food, the sort of food I would have in a restaurant... so it's not easy to find something a little different.

However today I had 2 small plates.. one with shredded Lamb in some kinda spicy sauce and salad.. and the other was Duck..( both of which I regularly have at home) and unfortunately they were very tiny.. and not cooked well.. so I didn't eat it.. but Daughter, had the steak because she's not had steak at home for months, and she said it was excellent..

The weather was terrible driving up there, the rain didn't stop until I was almost there.. and we were fortunate because it stayed off all the time were there, albeit very overcast and cold..

Stamford is a very hilly town centre so we did a lot of walking while we were shopping in some great small stores..like The White stuff, Joules and Fat Face.. and between us we spent a lot more than we were probably expecting to...

Before we set off home we had coffee and cake at a little traditional cafe.. really nice... but it was packed full of people, as was absolutely everywhere we went today... think because it's Easter Bank Holiday weekend next weekend..people might have been out to avoid even bigger crowds next weekend.. who knows..

Anyway It;s 10.30pm.. I only had 3 hours sleep last night so I'm pretty tired... just having a cuppa tea.. and a read of the forum...

this is where we had lunch...

It's very large, we were at the tables behind the camera... the photo doesn't do it justice it's really lovely..

Where did you go for your special meal? What did you have? Was your daughter able to help you through with the email from the ex? I am sorry it was a rainy day but I am sure your daughter brought some sunshine into your day. How are you feeling? I know you have been struggling with health issues, your knees, back and kidneys. Did I miss the results of your MRI? I am worried that you may do too much in the garden now that spring has arrived.

Yes, those are a lot of questions but you have had a lot going on.

You were answering my questions when I was typing more. Looks like it was a lovely day for both of you. The lamb and duck would not be my choice. I have had them but they were too game like for my taste. I am sure you have a better source, raised in the UK, when it comes to lamb. It was an often choice of Easter meals at my inlaws.

I posted above where I went for our lunch.... ^^^^ . My daughter is very plain speaking, not a sunshiny person in that sense... and she takes no prisoners... so we did discuss my estranged husband in some detail.. he is her step father after all...

My CKD doesn't bother me at all.. really.. thanks for asking... you make me sound like a Hypochondriac lol... :ROFLMAO: my Knees are painful tonight because of the almost 4 hour drive, and all the walking up and down hills in town and carrying heavy bags hurt my back too.. but I get used to it... so when I got home I took some painkillers, and a heat pad on my back helps always... but thanks for your concern..

I haven't had the result of my MRI btw.. got an appointment for the end of May to see the consultant.. in the UK the NHS works incredibly slowly.. . Sprin hasn't really arrived here yet.. we've had rain for days.. so no chance of going into the garden quite yet..

In the UK we have very good Lamb... we have sheep everywhere lol... and very good Duck. Lamb and duck are not gamey at all compared to pheasant, partridge, Ostrich, and Kangaroo et al...
