Just spent the last hour sowing the grass seed where I scarified the other day, , stamping it down and watering it... it's lovely and warm in the garden even tho' it's reportedly only 58 deg

Like @Georgiagranny noted, Easter weekend in Georgia will be unseasonably cold... I have a feeling I'll be wearing my "Easter outfit" today while it's still in the 80's and bundling up for church on Sunday, haha. Oh well, the celebration of Easter is more than clothes!

I'm also revising my Easter dinner menu... usually baked ham steaks with apricot glaze, new potatoes, peas and something cool and fruity for dessert. May be making bean soup and cornbread instead, lol.

I had an arrangement of silk flowers made for my table and look forward to setting that up Saturday night. I love making seasonally-themed table decorations

Off to pick up some stuff ordered from the fair trade store in town, groceries, and probably time with Ed. Y'all have a lovely day!

Hi folks...don't know for sure what I'll get into today, slept in later (yay) so always feel as if I'm behind...crazy right?....barber
lady couldn't make it last eve but should be here today, 6pm or so....50deg F here now, up to 60 later I think...no rain or storms today....just made couple bill payments online so that is done...
The groundhogs won't go into live trap so don't know what will
happen next.,........they keep chewing on the walls it will all fall

I figured out 11 no-equipment exercises I can do while hanging out on the balcony. Yesterday I did them all! Plus my rebounder exercises. Things are looking up.

I also managed to put the telescope together. But I didn't use it. I'll borrow the telescope again in October, when viewing conditions are better. It will get dark earlier, and there won't be any snow to reflect the light.

Spring is different here. Still snow, no slush, and it's shirtsleeve weather. Not bad. (I've disliked "mud season" in other places. Never understood why people liked spring.)

Today, laundry and vacuum I think. And exercise.

Talk to my language partner tonight. Then read in bed.

and to replace the milk that went sour
I buy dairy milk for baby grandson but also can't use it up fast enough to keep it from spoiling - he sometimes drinks 4-6 oz a day, other days he doesn't drink any.

When my kids were small I'd buy extra milk, use a few ounces, then stash the balance in the freezer - it doesn't lose quality or spoil. Would rotate it every month or so. Kept me from running out.

Reverted back to that trick, but these days I use leftover plastic drink containers (from single serving juice, Gatorade, etc.) and freeze the milk in 8 -12 oz increments. Defrost it in the fridge or by gradually warming it in a pot of water on the stove as I would a baby bottle.

I forgot all about freezing milk! Thanks for the reminder SS. I'll freeze some of my new milk today. 🥛

yep I said that yesterday.. M&S was absolutely rammed, couldn't believe it...

That said no-one can get anywhere... the roads are blocked into France, the traffic is backed up for miles. Euston Station has shut for the whole weekend, so travellers are in a right pickle not knowing how to get up north.. so it's probably best people stay home

Passengers flock to St Pancras and Marylebone stations to try and get a train

It's an absolutely glorious day for Good Friday... I've just got back from the walk by the river in the park... it's so quiet, everyone seems to be away... except these little guys...Mandarin Ducks

They're so beautiful I never tire of seeing them . I thought they were gone, haven't seen them for several years but it looks like they're back and causing mayhem among the indigenous mallards.. :D they're moody little devils, and like to fight..
They are gorgeous! And you took great shots HD.

Watching toddler grandson three days a week is not only a joy, it keeps me off my duff for more than a few minutes at a time. He loves going in the stroller for 30-45 minute walks around the neighborhood (or house in inclement weather - fortunately I have a circular floor plan), wants to be held, danced with and played with, and needs supervision at all times.

He's not here today because DDIL has Good Friday off, so today will be dedicated to managing chores shunted off earlier this week. Including getting a start on counting and verifying the first group of 1645 pieces.

My living room right now:

How does that saying go? No rest for the wicked???

I can see your hands are very full there Star, so I'll help you out by taking care of the Blue package for you.. 🥰

I survived a not-quiet day all by myself and worked so hard that I didn't have time to mourn the loss of Retired Lady. Everything got done...at least everything that gets done by me. There was a lot more that didn't get done, but those things aren't my responsibility (thank all that is holy!).

The lady who picks up donations for a food pantry didn't show up. She's always there before 10.

A customer in one of those motorized carts, bumped into a display of Easter treats and knocked it over. A very tall and wide display. Guess who got to clean up?

And now I'm home. It still hasn't rained, but it's not very warm at 62, and the sun is trying to break through the clouds. Okay. Now the weatherheads are saying no rain until around suppertime. Once it starts, it's not supposed to stop until the wee hours of Easter morning.

Maybe tomorrow will be quiet because all those people who didn't want to deal with the crowds tomorrow, dealt with them this morning instead. And Sir will be there tomorrow.

Well I've had another fairly eclectic day.. as well as going to the river this morning and getting the lovely pics of the Mandarin ducks.... and also sowing the grass seed this afternoon in my garden.. and clearing up all the winter stuff , and putting the lounger cushions on the washing line because they felt a little damp after winter storage.. I also have been out filling the oil, and water in my car... as well as topping up the Coolant. ... did this while I had the rest of yesterdays Chicken cooking in the oven.. which I've just had, and now it's past 7pm.. and still light.. but I'm not doing anything more today..

I finished my taxes this morning, which was a relatively easy process and did some accounting for my son and me. I also talked with my BFF, played a couple of games on the phone, played with Deja and had quite a long nap. I think it was a combo of the cold medicine I took and being more tired than I realized. This means I didn't get the chores done that I had planned.
