Out of sorts? That's an awful thing to be out of. I like when they're on sale buy one/get one and I have a dollar-off coupon as well :). I also like when there's no limit so that I can stock up and never run short of sorts.

Did that make you feel a little better? It helps to be silly sometimes.
 

Will be dragging my butt again today…..may have gotten a couple of hours sleep, last nite……this has been happening far too much lately.
So far Colorado Low has just come with some showers through the nite…..is only +1, so anything could drop out of the sky…..but…..won’t be any sun for a few days.

APRIL SHOWERS bring MAY FLOWERS.

Hoping to go through some fabric downstairs, measure, fold up nicely, and put in storage bags.
 
@MickaC I already have flowers. Some of them need to be deadheaded. According to the weathernerds it's gonna start raining in about an hour, but there's a clear sky and the sun is shining brightly.

Here it is almost 9am, and I'm still not showered or dressed and haven't emptied Maggiecat's litter box or started the blankety-blank laundry.

The weather could change in a heartbeat so I guess I'd better get a wiggle on.

Fell asleep watching TV for over an hour in evening then go to bed and just lie there thinking of all the things I could be doing then I get up at 1am and watch TV then I eat some toast then I go back to bed and sleep for about one hour then I get up at 4.30am...now I am going back to bed...

I have been venting on this thread about the odd relationship with my foster daughter…..I’m not starting a thread on this because it has come to an end.
I posted this about being dumped on by her, big time, middle of March, which was a month since I heard from her last.

Well…..on the 4th of this month, just over a week ago……got a message from her…..she stated about everything she has done right…..and stated about everything I have done wrong. 😕🙁☹️.
She told me NOT to get the kids anything for Easter. 😕😒😞…..but I did have some things for them.
I messaged back…..it took 2 days for her to even read my reply.

I was not invited for Easter.

I have been DUMPED. 😒😞☹️🙁😢.

I don’t expect to hear from her again.

About a year and a half ago……my X said something stupid to her about my grandmothers china, which are close to 80 years old.
She was on my back about giving them to her…..after time…..I gave in.

Many may think badly of me for this……I cannot move and leave the china with her…..the china needs to come back to me.
From there…..they will go to who was supposed to get them in the first place.

They are to go to…..a great grandson of my one of my grandmothers sisters…..he and his family live about an hour from here.

This relationship has been stressful since it started when they moved here about 6 years ago.
It’s very strange when someone only wants to communicate on social media…..we are only 10 blocks from each other.

Story closed.😒😞☹️😕😢.

Sorry you had a bad nite, too…..frustrating, isn’t it. Hope you can get a power nap or two in. 😴😴😴.
 
morning folks...slept better last nite with help of extra melatonin... and woke up to full on arthritis and pollen day...wow.....went out to pick up some small limbs and DID NOT
fall !!!! LOL...had my biscuits and sausage gravy for breakfast...got a arby's beef in fridge for supper....pretty and
sunny and windy out.....take care all .......;)

@MickaC How the heck are you going to get the china back? I bet she either doesn't even have it any longer (like sold it?) or much of it is chipped or broken.

I've wondered why you've hung onto this one-way relationship for so long and am glad to hear that you're exiting. She sounds like a real piece of work. I don't like people who are the All-About-Me sort.

She has lost more than you have. Sooner or later she'll be back when she wants something. Please don't fall for it.

Well it's been a glorious sunny day... rain forecast again for tomorrow so I too the opportunity to go out and do a few things. Verrrry windy tho' but not as bad as yesterday...
Went to the bricks and mortar bank the nearest branch is 2 towns away since so many banks are closing down in the UK, small market towns like mine don't have any anymore

I dropped off at the Charity shop a big sack of the last of my estranged husbands' shirts ( such beautiful shirts someone will get a bargain) .. and a bag of shoes of mine


Then had a coffee al fresco at Cafe Nero... .. before descending on the Beauty Salon, and asking them if the Lord was home because I needed someone to create miracles.. he wasn't home, but his son and daughter did their best.. :p

Got these colour nails this month..

Then to the shops.. got a bunch of groceries that I wouldn't usually buy in bulk... cereals , hams, fruit, bread, cheeses, etc... cost me far too much... and then to the department store and got myself 3 summer tops.. and this jacket.. (stock photo)..

...so now at 5.15pm.. it's still sunny, and the wind has dropped a little, and I'm staying home.. . Gotta go back out tomorrow for a Docs appt,..
 
The laundry is almost done. Litter box cleaned. Showered. Dressed. Fed. Flowers deadheaded. A few weeds met their demise. The Hovel has been vacuumed, and I even moved the fridge to get at the cat fur that accumulates under/behind it.

I feel virtuous.

The rain of biblical proportions hasn't happened and probably isn't going to. We had a few sprinkles, might get a few more, might get a tornado, might not.

About the toast. It was pumpernickel bread.
I usually only have that for sandwich stuff but had run out of my grainy bread so thought to try a slice toasted and found it very tasty..with lots of butter of course.
I am thinking I will have that as my morning toast as the grains bread does give me some trouble with my teeth. The grains get lodged and hard to get out of crevices ....and apparently pumpernickel is high in fibre too so that takes car of the bowel family.
 
I meant to tell y'all that yesterday a lady talked to Sir about a job. Well...she didn't talk to him, the lady with her translated for her. Well-qualified having worked in a supermarket bakery in her home country, very presentable, very nice, and doesn't speak a word of English. Only Spanish. Willing to work any hours, even a 10pm-6am shift:(

Sir speaks only English. I can speak enough Spanish to get to the bathroom or order a meal.

surely it's against all health and safety to employ someone who cannot speak, understand or read English..

Before you get into a tiff with her, explain the situation to the great grandson. He may not give a hoot.

@hollydolly Right. We can't even consider her, and it makes me sad, but it would be downright dangerous to hire someone who doesn't understand the language.

@Jules Using the phone to translate wouldn't do at all because we are so pressed for time. Yes. That pressed for time. We haven't a moment to spare and every day is a race against the clock.

It might work in a non-production department, especially one where there are other Spanish-speakers. We have many employees who speak Spanish.

I have a lot of experience with foreign coworkers, etc., and also as an ESL/EFL teacher. Hire her. She will learn the language quickly (at least what she needs to know). Gestures (and, as @Jules mentioned, translation apps) will work in the meantime. Good luck!

Thanks Teacher Terry……for the life of me, I don’t know why she wanted the china so badly, china is not her thing.
In the past six years, she has never asked about any of my family, never asked to see any pictures, etc.
Has been all about her…..go ahead and call me a sucker……that’s how I feel about it.

I have to get the china back…..they’re part of me…..i remember how I loved getting grammas china out when I was young for family meals…..even after they were gifted to me when she passed……I used them for every special occasion.

Thanks for your input, Georgiagranny, my door is closed concerning her…..never ever will open it to her again.
I will get the china back.
 
I did the laundry, hung some of it on the balcony. Had a couple of friendly shouted conversations with neighbors. So nice to be able to go outside! (Without having to leave home.)

I'll clean my humidifier. It was lying dormant while I had the flood problem. I don't need it during the day because the windows are open. But I'd like to run it at night while I sleep. Oddly, the heat is still on in the apartment (drying the air), even though the weather is warm.

I was having some nose problems. I decided that the Glade Plug-In air freshener was causing it, even though I unplugged it. I got rid of the Glade in the garbage, and my nose feels better. Now some poor bear at the dump is suffering.

Oh dear, oh dear, I really need to do some exercises. I'll try to do the most basic ones today. (Rebounder and stretches.)

Reread the book club selection. Talk to my language partner this evening. Read in bed, and done.

I knew that. We can't hire her in the bakery. Management might want to hire her in another capacity.
