Did I mention earlier that I was on hold for an hour to the Doctors' surgery today. ?.. It's just appalling trying to get to to speak to someone at reception..much less even try and get an appointment.

I deliberately left it until 4pm because by then they've stopped taking appointments.. and surgery is almost over for the day ( an hour or 2)... but still there were 15 people in front of me when I rang.

I just put the phone down on the cradle and let it continue while I got on with something else. The danger of that was that I realised by the time that I got to be 2nd in the Queue that I'd tuned out the dreadful music, and nearly missed getting to the top of the Queue.

I didn't want an appointment which was probably a very good thing, I just wanted to double check that the Doctor had actually requested X-rays for my knees like she promised, and fortunately she did.

@hollydolly
I am sorry that you've had to go through all of what you described in that post, on previous page... about the hard drive, and the rest of the similar experiences with him, etc...... :(

I would like to read more posts, right now, but am not able to. Extremely worn out. I had a very draining appointment, and DH (past 90) has some worrisome symptoms, suddenly. I am feeling stressed. Just checking in here, with all of you, kind folks.
Thanks for being here. 💌💌💌💌💌📮
Kaila, so sorry to hear your husband has worrying health .. I can only wish you and him the very best outcome. Please keep us updated when you can if you want.. you know we're all here to support you.. 🫂

Welp, the therapy guy came and did his bit with me today...
so I'm all exercised up now...and this dang rash is giving
me fits tonite......nothing seems to calm down the itchy/burny
mess....I had a thought about something that happened in 2007 the wife had me tear out a bed of ENGLISH IVY that was next
to front porch....a few days later i started getting a rash that just would not calm down or go away...it got so bad the doc sez
well there is one medication, but it cost around 1500.00, so I
had to send the script to CANADA drugs so I could afford it....
reason for long story, it makes me wonder if my body flared up with the infection from that ivy!?!?!?! dunno if that is likely or not....we will see.....

~Watched Will Trent & 9-1-1: Lone Star
~Put away Costco groceries, which involved making room in our modest sized but apparently "magic" refrigerator freezer.
~Watched a couple of UFO docs with my son.
~Took a couple of naps.
~Played my games.

I have to find a physician, find a vet (the one I want is not taking new patients), call my ex-husband, call my husband. I don't like talking on the phone, but I have put the doc/vet calls off for months. Laundry, clean kitchen, take care of 3 dogs, groom my dog, brush Cousin's dogs. Lunch is sorted, but I have to figure out what to fix for dinner.

I've started feeding the dogs 1/2 cup of cooked, chopped veg in their dinners. They love them, and it helps fill them up. Cousin's dogs always want more food, and they already get a cup each. They are miniature Aussies, but they have big appetites. My dog loves veg.

I intend to figure out a schedule that includes time to read nonfiction. I will concentrate on a topic per month. I just started reading about the human brain, and that will continue through May. I also plan to study math, write a book, and learn to draw as ongoing projects. There are so many topics I'm interested in, that I decided to go about it in a more organized manner.

I just need my life to have room for these things and more, that I do just for fun. Hence the schedule. Then I have to work out where to do all this, and get my sons to move some furniture and boxes around.

A beautiful day!

I woke up way too early. Oh well.

This morning I got my pension, in spite of the strike. Did my monthly paperwork.

I've done some of my exercises, and will do the rest.

Long distance language partner this evening. In a couple of days he's going to visit relatives in the US. He still wants to have conversation practice while he's away. Says he'll let me know if he has to cancel. He's usually very reliable, but I think he'll be less reliable while away. I don't want to be waiting around, knowing he might cancel. Easier to just cancel for the 2 weeks. (Anyway, I'd like to take a break.) I'm not sure how to tell him.
My pension came on time, in spite of the strike as well.
It’s a direct deposit to my account…..maybe that helps for being on time.

Thank you. I did see a headline about a strike, but didn't put 2 and 2 together.

Ours is a nonfiction book club. The organizer likes heavy tomes, e.g., old philosophers. I think the rest of us would be happier with popular, recent nonfiction books, and tend to see it more as a social outlet.
I read nonfiction on my own, and if I find something worthy (as I often do) I'll mention it to the group. Sometimes they're added as an option for the following month.

As I said, we generally choose 4-5 books a month. Big advantage - when I (and others) start reading something but find it tough sledding, boring, uncomfortable, etc., it's easy to simply move onto another book.

Why not start another book club that's centered around lighter fiction, or suggest adding a second book each month?

In my group, about six attend regularly, and a few others come when they can.

Up at 5:30 AM, as usual when watching DGS. He arrives between 7:15-7:30, so getting up early gives me a chance to have some coffee, handle any little chores that need doing, and check in with y'all.

Today is DDIL's birthday. DS is planning a special date night with her, so the baby will stay here through tomorrow morning. 💕
