What are you doing today 2023

I'm typing this much earlier than I usually do because I don't intend to do much else tonight. My BFF surprised me with an early call this morning. I took a couple of short naps today; one of which Deja and I were disturbed by a crazy bird hitting the window (actually glass patio door) a few times. I was going to walk to the UPS store to return two Amazon orders but it kept raining off and on plus it was quite windy.

I made a very easy lunch/dinner...frozen spinach mozzarella ravioli and green beans with sliced peppers and onions (both also frozen). When my son got home from work, he sat with me sorting beans while I prepared 3 pill boxes (one for my purse). I played WWF & Cody Cross and watched T.V. I have to make a couple of calls this evening then intend to finish 9-1-1 and perhaps start the latest Fantasy Island episode.
 
I've been practicing "no" all day and am very good at it. I can also say it in German, French and Spanish. I hope nobody mentions Thursday at all so that I can just leave tomorrow at 11 and show up again at 6 on Friday...all innocent and stuff;) Yanno...like "Who? Me? Where was I yesterday? It was my day off."
 

Not worried, really. I just wanna make sure that I remember the script so I've been practicing all day.

My "other plans"...DD works away from home on Thursday mornings so I have no way to get to the store. It's why Sir always schedules me off on Thursdays.

He and I have this agreement that I don't work more than three days in a row except for inventory weekend when it can't be helped. That weekend I work Fri/Sat/Sun/Mon. The weekend coming up is inventory weekend.

@hawkdon Be sure to let us know what the doc says tomorrow.

Well it started off very grey but now At past 1pm it's sunny. I made a bureaucratic call this morning to a multi national corporate business which meant I was passed from pillar to post and kept on hold for ages before I could get sense out of anyone, and they've promised to call me back...today.. so altho' they have both of my numbers.. and I could go out, there's a good chance if they call my mobile I'd be driving and couldn't reply.. so I'm a bit miffed about it, but I'm best to stay home today. Unfortunately the rest of the week's weather looks very dull..

The hedges out front could do with a short back and sides.. but again, can't do it because I won't hear the phones.. so I'm pretty stuck to being here all day today..
 
It's sunny but windy. Sigh. I don't like wind. But think right now that I'll go out and dig a few weeds.

Guess what? "No" is a complete sentence! I'm off tomorrow. Unfortunately, TPTB thought it would be a good move to schedule Newest Hire From The Other Department to work. Alone. Geniuses, all of them, but not my problem.

Update on Sir's mother is that they turned off the respirator and she's breathing on her own, has opened her eyes and saw Sir (no blank gaze), tried to talk so much that her tongue swelled because she kept biting it. She's been moved to hospice, but it's looking much better than they expected. Fingers crossed🤞.

Sir's health is much improved, too, and he plans to be at work on Monday.

Out to kill a weed or three.
 
Sitting and trying to digest what my surgeon just told me: I have bladder cancer! I chose regular checks (and treatment) to ensure I stay reasonably comfortable over radiation treatment which might prolong my life a bit. Please, don't feel sorry or treat me differently in any way! We all have to go and I am prepared for it! Just sharing with some who have become friends in my mind!

Old Salt, just went thru a bladder cancer tumor operation...it was not bad at all, just some aggraavation in the post op waiting to go home...no probs since then...3 months....hang in there......
