Today I led a photo walk at a local limestone quarry and nature reserve. It was a lovely sunny day. Highlight for me was spotting Peregrine Falcon on the cliff tops about 110m away. Here's the shot and my "this is where it was" pic.

Squint... X marks the spot.

Dear son is here doing the yard work. He took all of the towels from the flood in the master closet to dry on the patio. I will wash them after they dry. There are so many it will be more than one load.

I set up a big fan in there to help things dry out. We will see what kind of damage is left behind. I don't think it will be enough to file a claim on my home owners policy. I have a 3000 deductible. I am lucky that I bought 6 extra cases of my laminate flooring when I had it installed. If needed I will just have to get someone to come in and replace it.

Wow! Sorry to hear that! I hope everything goes well with the cleaning up. Smart to have extra cases of laminate flooring. But keep the receipts in case the cost goes above your deductible. That's what insurance companies are for .....

Gotta figure out one additional anti-deer device for flowers that are fixing to bloom. Went out just now and the day lily that was preparing to bloom has been picked off like a canape from a silver tray by the deer (fume, fume, fume....) More bloodmeal will be purchased and spread but that doesn't help the flowers that grow on a stalk and the deer don't have to get anywhere near the ground to nibble the delicacies [more fuming... sorry, I know they are God's creatures but dang it, I was looking forward to seeing those blooms! The day lilies are ones Ed planted for me and they are special =( ] I have seen chicken wire "cloches" that might do the trick for individual plants but the question is can I find them in this little backwater town.

I know…..deer are Mother Natures creations…..but…..they can do a lot of damage.
We have a regular deer population in town, here.
So many things that are pleasing to them to eat.
People have fences, have used teturents, to try to keep them away from gardens, flowers, trees etc.
I guess, since their habitat is disappearing…..mostly from farmers trying to get every little piece of ground to sow….,where are the deers supposed to live…..in town, of course.
Very sad…..loosing a lot of wildlife from this very reason.

Great photos! What kind of bird is that? Just curious.
 
So I go into my neighborhood Citibank to pay a credit card bill of $3.04. Thought I'd save a stamp on such a small amount. They didn't accept cash! I had exact change, too! Only a check or money order would have been accepted which of course I did not have.
 
@Pepper There's a regional department store here that will let me pay a bill with my debit card but not let me go in the store and use the debit card to pay the bill. Huh?

DD and I visited the garden centers this morning. All the flowers have been planted except for three balloon flowers. It just got too darned hot to keep on keeping on so I came in and took a shower instead.

I am only kidding! There are probably limits to their ingenuity and skills, even though I am not aware of any!:ROFLMAO:
 
I'm tired. I cleaned up DHs garden work bench. Sorted all his used pots, recycled Styrofoam trays, tubs, empty soda bottles. Did not throw any away. They are all valuable! 😒 Racked all the leaves around and under. Weeded the weeds.
Our sunroom becomes a planting center this time of year. I totally cleaned the sunroom and neatly p!aced all the other recycled treasures, plastic knives for marking plants, grow lights, etc very neatly on the table for him to go through.
Other than the table it looks like a nice sunroom for sitting again.

He will not like this. He will not like it at all. I've touched his stuff. But he will have to deal with it I try very hard not to invade his spaces but I live here too.

that's one thing I don't miss ... anyone getting annoyed because I touched their stuff

Well it would be really nice if we did have a Facebook Lottery but what can we do but make some fun with it.
I did buy a real lottery ticket today for our 649 Classic Draw on Wednesday so I will take your good luck wishes for that.(y)
 
What am I doing?
I am amusing myself, and lifting my own spirits, by writing some silly responses to light-hearted posts.

It is seeming to successfully be giving me some stress relief, even though I had started it, with the goal of putting a smile on some others of your faces, not mine.

Funny how it can work that way, isn't it?
Hope I shared a few laughs with others here, today.
It surely beats the medicines that are sometimes suggested for my ailments! ;)

Kaila, I always think of you as a breath of fresh air sweeping through the forum... :love:

WE know you're poorly dear lady and that's not to say you cannot come and offload when you need to..on here.., you must if you need to... but mostly despite your pain.. you are always there to just be like tinkerbell... and fly around touching everyone on the head with your smiley fairy wand..

Good morning , woke up after a really deep 7 hr sleep , I dont get them often, and the bonus is the sun is out again ,
Ive done a burn of paper work that needed doing , the washing is on , and im going back to get my Prescription filled , not all of it was there yesterday , a repeat of what happened last Month ..3 times i had to go back .Ive also been out to spray the weeds that got missed on the road side in front of my house ..
