Morning folks....welp, just got phone with Spectrum cable company, they
will send tech with new cable box on wed at noon, hopefully then will get
new tv hooked up....today is House Helper day, she will be here at 11am but
first she will take me to eyeglass place to see if they can correct the prob I
am having with these new ones...Going to be warm again, but cain't do
anything about it....take care all....;)

I've been up since three. I'm ready for bed. Might get a library visit in first. Will be in the nineties today.

I don't know how to get another cat. I've never paid for one, well the first cost $5. at a pet store. Although I crave cats, still in mourning for the EXACT cats I lost. So, probably too soon.

Laundry: done
Weeding: some of it done
Deadheading: some of it done
Transplanting: done

I'm fed and showed and dressed in clean clothes. Just waiting for DD to say she's available to take me to get my haircut. I wanna be like @timoc...just shave it all off!

It's supposed to be hotter than Hades again today, but so far it's only 76. Well. Okay. So it's not even 10am. 90 by noon. No rain in sight.

Well the thunder amounted to just 2 Big Claps.. and no rain.. and almost immediately the sun came back out...so I went out.. It was really pleasantly warm without being horribly hot.. and I drove over to the farm shop and to the supermarket on the return. Supermarket had hardly anyone in there..so it was less stressful than usual ( I hate grocery shopping).....and not so many folks on the road for some odd reason, so it was a really pleasant drive back through the country roads...

The schools break up this Friday for 6 weeks.. I suspect a lot of people may have already taken their children out of school and gone away to avoid the increased airfares during the holidays.. hence the quiet roads, and supermarket..

I am moping and bored out of my skull! I am a born night owl who's usually up all night and sleeps all day, but because of the heat I decided to switch to normal living for the summer only. Now what do I do with myself? I no longer have a car, find walking difficult, and I never liked watching TV during the day. So I've been reading all morning while looking in on SeniorForums now and then! Where do I go from here? Here endeth my moaning!

I feel for you.. I've always been a night owl, even when I worked, I'd go to bed as late as possible. I don't sleep during the day.. I'm usually well up before 10am, despite going to bed at 3 or 4am.... but so many people get up at 6am.. I just would be bored out of my skull. Once the chores are done what's to do all day.. nothing... not around here in the countryside.. anyway.... the day drags on eternally..

I've had so many cats and most have just shown up somewhere, at my house, in a parking lot, at a friend or relative's house who know I'm a soft touch. I have also adopted a few from animal rescues. That might be best because it would allow you to choose the kind of cat you might want. Maybe not yet but probably soon? A kitty that needs you helps with healing. ❤️

Wow, guess I am lucky! As a kid I had lots of things I enjoyed doing, much of it had to be indoors. I grew up in a high mountain town in Colorado. Our winter were heavy with snow and cold, very cold. January and February were stay inside time, it was just too cold to be outside if you did not have to be...

Now as a retired adult that lives in the Kansas City area, July and August are too hot and humid to be outside. So, I have resorted to some of my childhood hobbies and hobbies my father had. I enjoy the heck out of doing these things as I now have the time, resources, and discipline to truly enjoy them. So what do I do? I oil paint and draw, build model airplanes. Some I fly (wood) and some just for fun (plastic). I have been learning to play the guitar. Since I was in band through grade school and Jr. high school, I can read and play music, so learning the guitar is fun and going fairly well. Finally, we have a local YMCA and I love to work out including swimming some laps...
I also have done watercolor painting in the past, so I may go back to that also. I have other things I would like to learn, but for now I have enough going on...

When I can get outside, I love to play golf, I am a real hacker. But I enjoy it! I also love to hike or go swimming in the local lakes.

Come on folks....get busy having some fun when time permits...

Yesterday I said I would start lifting tiles from my balcony . I did three rows and planning to do a couple or maybe three rows today.
Oh and I did mention how it would be good to have a nice toyboy to help...well..........

...right now I have this gorgeous hunk in my living room...no, no, no get that out of your mind. !!batting_eyelashes.gif
He is fixing my leaky apartment furnace and said he would pull up a few strips for me before he leaves so I just have to break off individually. It does help a lot.

No adverse effects from activity yesterday other than being totally exhausted so the old bod is still able.

later.....

Today, I am trying to hang in here at home, with the challenges and the tasks, that need to be done.
Little bit, by little bit....is the only way I can do things,
but is much better than no-bits.;):sneaky:

Also, I've read up on some of your updating posts.
And got a few needed and welcome smiles and laughs, from a few of the light topic threads, while I've dropped in for this SF visit. :)

Well, back from eye place, they spent some time re=working the frame...
the glasses don't slip down my nose any more, and also not pinching...changed
the angle of the lenses as relates to my face....and all seems okay so far....:geek:
I hope that all will solve the problem, but if it doesn't,
do have the helper take you back there, the next time it is possible for them to do so!

I also hope you get that tv fully up and running, very soon!

I had my one and only cataract surgery today. They all said it's fine. I guess it is, but itchy, still blury and dilated, sort of hurts. Time will tell.
Yes, it will be itchy for a couple of days and blurry. I do remember that it hurt a little bit that first day but then was better. They did tell you not to rub or scratch your eye when it itches, right? That's very important.

I've just dealt with a couple more of today's medical issues, for DH,o_O:confused: and then got naps and snacks.:sleep:

We might sound like a couple of preschoolers,

but I am pretty sure we are not, because we didn't get band-aids with funny faces and animal characters on them,
nor were we awarded with cheerios and animal crackers for snacktime.

:sneaky:

I made a plan for tomorrow morning, and the morning after that, though either or neither (or both) might be postponed or cancelled until further notice.:rolleyes::unsure:
But once in a while, it feels better to have one, than not to have one. I'm not always sure why.;)

I guess what I'm doing today, is muddling along, as best as I am able.
Yesterday, I 'd managed to give dear kitty a little extra TLC which was sorely needed, and she's visibly doing better today, since then, so that feels good for me.

It’s the little things that can make the difference for everyone and everything.
Exactly right. And loving on a furry friends is one of the little things. Good for the furry friend and good for your blood pressure.

Haircut accomplished. I stopped just short of @timoc's solution of shaving the head, but lemme tell ya! It's short. Really short. No comb or brush necessary in the morning. Yay. I feel about 10 lbs lighter, too;)

I think I'm gonna buy a Mega Millions ticket tomorrow. Where there's life, there's hope. Right?

I wasn't on line this morning. Dio got bit by something last week, and instead of getting better it has been spreading. I automatically started thinking about Brown Recluse spiders. So we headed into town for an appointment with an APN.

Happily, the APN said that it did not look like a Recluse bite, or any other kind of spider. She said that it looked more like a reaction to whatever it was that bit him. That is strange, because he really doesn't react to any bites or stings. I do!!!! But he doesn't. So, anyway, she put him on a low dose steroid and he is to use a prescription antibiotic ointment that we already had in the house.

After that we ran a few errands, picked up a pizza and headed home. Then we kicked back and watched Warehouse 13, and The Mentalist.

We had another thunder storm come through....it took out the WiFi again! This time it was only out for a few minutes.

Well, baldy (me) went for a walk yesterday. I walked and walked, probably a bit (a lot) too far.

Returning, and by the time I reached my front path I was totally knackered, so, I had my 'plates of meat' (feet) in a bowl of hot water for a couple of hours and a few single malts purely for medicinal purposes of course. ☺️

I've decided that long walks and me don't suit each other..... I wonder if I could pinch that kids scooter again. ☺️

Lit up the small diesel tractor and mowed the blueberry field this afternoon. These plants are old and pretty much at the end of their lives plus what they do produce is eaten by those pesky deer that live on my land. I still mow the field to keep the brush from taking over.
