What are you doing today 2023

Yesterday was busy, business-wise, including going on-site to our biggest customer and training/organizing/helping the new manager. Sure it was work, but in truth it was kinda fun. We felt very OG because DH & I gave up that part of the business 7 years ago. It came back to us in an instant though, and they were very grateful for our help.

Baby grandson comes today. We'll put on his swimshirt and swim diaper immediately after he arrives and take him in the pool. He love an early morning dip! 💕

Today is an "in town" day, so I'm off and running again! 🏃

Bye bye, for now!

Got up early, today, to help and to reassure DH.
I'm now having a :coffee: and reading a few posts, and enjoying a little distraction, here, and a few laughs from other threads,
while I'm having a brief morning visit to SF.
Saying hello to each of you.
With the exception of helping and reassuring DH (I hope all goes well and that he appreciates you, sweet Kaila), that's what's happening here. Up early, reading a few posts, having a quick visit, enjoying and catching up with my SF friends, and savoring my second cup of coffee.

My life might not be as exciting as some, but I'm quite happy with it.

Hi, kids. I got to come home at 10 today. I was only scheduled until 10 and could have stayed until the usual 11, but...why would I? LOL

TL called around 9 and said she was having problems getting her twins registered at their new school. Not surprised. Moved from another state? She told me last week it wouldn't be a problem because she had all her paperwork ready. Mmhmm. First day of school at a new school in a new state. She didn't pre-register them because...um...she figured she was prepared. How many others thought they were prepared, too? Imagine the lines of parents... Better them than me!

I have my Mega Millions ticket. The numbers look like winners to me. 🤑💰💰💰💰🤑

Going take advantage of clouds and slightly cooler temps to finish weeding driveway close to house. Started yesterday but it warmed up too quick. I just need about 40 minutes more to be done with it. Will also do a little more of ihe major inside rearranging and decluttering project i've been working on this summer since outside has been SO hot.

Next cloudy day hooe to redo clothesline. As much as i'd like rain that will only take an hour so of comfortable outdoor work temps to do that.

Sunday I opened all the doors to the car to start drying it out from the heavy rains.
We forgot to close up the windows as we left for shopping. Put a fan in it to quicken drying time.

Yesterday I took the 20' ladder out of storage and propped it up on a tree.
Today I sawed off 4 low hanging leaf heavy limbs and cut them up. stay tuned for progress reports.

It's hot out there, but looking more and more like we'll actually get rain Thursday and maybe even Friday, too. With the rain comes cooler temps. Yay.

GG is cooking two days in a row. Mark your calendars!

That package of chicken breasts that DGD just had to have last January is getting used up. Yesterday two of them went into the chicken pot pie. It was tasty.

There were four left and finished thawing in the fridge. Today they're in a casserole with rice, cream of chicken soup, an envelope of onion soup mix and water. The rice has a sort of wild rice taste to it. It's covered and in the oven as we speak.

I used to make this often because it's one of those things my kids would actually eat (besides spaghetti or mac & cheese). I'd forgotten about it until seeing some casserole recipes on the Taste of Home website this morning and said to myself "Self! Sit up and take notice. This is something we haven't had in dog's years." My Self up and took notice, found my original recipe, put it all together, et voilà! Dinner tonight.

DD had an appointment in the city. When she comes home, she'll be greeted by a yummy smelling meal.

I feel so...so...thrifty? Frugal? Or maybe just smug because I cooked two days in a row.

Just home from Americus. With responding to patient needs last night, had less than 4 hrs sleep. When the caffeine from the cold brew coffee I bought in the way home wears off, the resulting “crash” when my head hits the pillow is going to be louder than Krakatoa exploding. 😉😴🙄

@hollydolly Yanno...there might be cute little coffee shops like that here, but I don't think I've ever seen one. Maybe I just don't travel in the right neighborhoods. In Europe there are so many that have such ambiance. In Germany I really liked the Konditereien...choose a pastry (or three!) and have coffee right there.

Our coffee shops are usually chains (like Starbucks, Caribou, Dunkin) and mostly ordinary. When you've seen one, you've seen them all.

When the bridge is built so that I can visit, besides M&S, can we visit a coffee shop or two?

I'll be listening for that; thanks for the warning!:sneaky:
And then, we will alllll.... be quieter than tiny mouses in their tiny houses! 🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫

Okay, it's enough dusting. Also, I very bravely threw out all my old Latin books, except for a teeny tiny dictionary whose print is so small I can't read it and don't know how I ever did. Maybe I'll dump that too. Can't see it anyway.

Like I'm ever going to read Latin again, yeah sure. Still, it hurts to throw out books and I have been very courageous.
