What are you doing today 2023

Me too. I think it’s the volume. I don’t mind doing the hard floors with the Dyson as needed. It’s the carpets I hate. That means pulling out the Oreck and it’s heavy and hard work. When I do a full dusting, I get out the vacuum to pick up the dust that falls.

Does everyone else dust before vacuuming or vice versa?

Dusting before vaccuming ???? First time I’ve heard of that.
I’m a devoted swifter user for dusting and floors in between when I use my Dyson.
Have a great hard top duster attachment for my Dyson, about 10 inches long with soft brushes.
I’m still getting used to all bare floors…..no carpeting…..getting my routine in place for bare floors.
But…..
I’ve been investing in some area rugs…..have 2 arrived, so far, one still to come.
 

Have been napping to catch up on a sleepless night. I'd gotten a message to tell me that my former Mum-
in-law in Australia had passed away. She was almost 104. I lived with her a couple of times. We got along
superbly, went downtown arm-in-arm. We always stopped for lunch at an outdoor cafe, and she would treat
us to a very sweet chocolate "frog" from Haigh's.

She was a top-seller of Avon, and won a trip to Canada, back in the 60's. Her corner cabinet was filled with
awards, of which she gifted me one of them. She sold Avon, well into her 90's.

Sadly, her last few years were spent fairly immobile. That would have been extremely difficult, as she was a
whirlwind of activity all her life. She had the best of loving care, living with her daughter and son-in-law, up
in the hills of Adelaide.

She was a gem.
 

In my next life I'm coming back as a meteorologist so I can get paid big bucks to be wrong most of the time. Up until around 3 this afternoon, we were going to get rain by 5am tomorrow. Now we have a 50/50 chance of rain by 5pm tomorrow. Grrr. The stupid forecast has been getting better and better for days...until now.:mad:

I have said exactly the same thing for years now... the only people I know who get paid well for doing their job badly...
 
All this talk of dusting made me feel (just a little bit) guilty. I sorted through sheets and since some are stored on a very high shelf, I climbed up and down to dust the storage spots. Enough of that nonsense for a long while. Good riddance to too many sheets.
 
I went to see the Oppenheimer movie today, and since that was close to the grocery store, after the movie I did my shopping a day earlier than my normal day.

All you guys' talk of dusting is making me feel like a bad housekeeper, I suppose tomorrow I could dust and vacuum since the grocery shopping is done. Ugh.

Lucky you, @hawkdon. You get real rain. We get promises. Now we're told that we're at a level 2 out of 5 for severe weather this afternoon, including the possibility of "small, spin-up tornadoes." Sure.

Didn't get up until almost 6. I'm turning into such a slug!

Maybe I'll get around to deadheading the yarrow today. I didn't know that stuff was self-seeding and wondered why there are so many plants because I didn't remember planting them. Duh. And...I'm gonna water the garden, hoping that it'll rain. Sort of like washing the car and having it get rained on. Know what I mean?

All talk; little action! Did you like the movie? I used to be friends with his nephew; actually not friends, professional academic relationship but he told me some family stories which I'm hoping the movie will re-ignite as I forgot them.

It's going to be another hot one today! I'm not sure what I'll be doing, but you can be sure that it will be something indoors!

I've been wanting to paint the wall and ceiling area in the shower. There are mold spots in the corners. I've been bleaching them once a week. I don't know if I've killed it or not, but I can still see it. (not to mention that I'm sure that there is more that I can't see!!!! 😱) So, maybe I'll paint. Maybe I'll sit on my bum.

We'll see how the day plays out.

Shops, people who need to meet you, stuff for you/garden/home. Yes. There are people who need to meet you, but if you don't get out and about, they'll never have the opportunity to know and love you like we do.

Not to mention, there are all those cute coffee shops! You haven't explored them all yet.

I had crackers and cheese for breakfast. Jussayin

@hollydolly Ok. You don't have to go, but what about tomorrow? Waiting for any deliveries tomorrow? Will the weather be better tomorrow?

When you stop for coffee, make sure to pick a crowded place with tables for two. If you find one empty, take it. If not, but a place available at one where there's somebody sitting alone, ask if they mind if you sit there, too. Especially if the somebody is a person of the male persuasion, appropriate age and looking relatively prosperous;)

If you take a table for two and see somebody looking for a place to sit, invite them to join you, especially if the somebody is a person of the male persuasion, appropriate age and looking relatively prosperous..
