As we got back off our short break in North Yorkshire yesterday - I have a ton of photos to edit.

Plus putting the bungallow back together after our decorator worked his magic while we were away.

And - we have a kitchen designer coming in *Looks at clock* - FOUR MINUTES!!!!💨

Good grief. I'm merrily scrolling through the What Are You Doing thread and discover that I keyed all this stuff in yesterday without posting:

@Mizmo May I ask why you're in disguise? And why just for now? Are you in hiding?

I clocked out at work at 11:05. Home at 11:11. I was fine when leaving work. By the time I got home I had a UTI. What the what? My grandmother would have said it's the meanness coming out.

Anyway, here I sit at Kaiser's urgent care. Just the way I wanted to spend Sunday afternoon. Not. But better than waiting until tomorrow.

I worked alone today. Did I finish? Nope. Do I care? Nope. I'm off tomorrow. Somebody else can do it.

I'm getting an attitude. Is there an emoji for that?
So...that was yesterday.

Today is the tomorrow when I have a day off.

Kaiser's urgent care was loaded up with old people in wheelchairs, connected to oxygen, wielding walkers...what? Usually it's loaded up with little kids with runny noses.

There was a lady in a wheelchair in a cube with only a curtain between us. When the doc got to her, she started prescribing to him. Again, what? She said her leg hurt and she wanted oxy-something or other. No go. Then a "muscle relaxer," to which he replied they aren't prescribed for people older than 64. He's telling her that after all the tests they did, they can find no cause, not even a bruise. She finally settled for prescription strength Naproxin, grumbling to herself after the doc left.

I got my scrip and high-tailed it outta there.

Gonna do the usual turn around the garden early and deadhead stuff as I go, then turn on the sprinkler because it's gonna be hot again. Then off to the bank and stuff with DD.

We might get our first 100 degree days this week. This year we've been lucky to not see 100 degrees so far.

The only really awful weather was the 90+ temps with extremely high humidity. That was misery. Otherwise? A regular summer.

Having said all that, @hollydolly Please send your high 70s here. Perfect. Almost like Camelot except no rain for another week, not even at night like in Camelot.
And - we have a kitchen designer coming in *Looks at clock* - FOUR MINUTES!!!!💨
Um. Sounds like you're all behind, like the cow's tail. Get a wiggle on!

morning all folks.....75 deg F here rite now...up to 100 or more later today, enuff already!!!! Dunno yet what I'll get up to so
just go with the flow till my brain kicks into gear....oh yeah I
need to find my "help me I've fallen and can't get up" button
thingy...I've lost it somehow!!!??? ah well.....have a great day
folks !!! :p:devilish:

This afternoon Sonny is taking me to the store. So will just do household chores till then. My laundry is still hanging in my shower so putting that away right now so I can use the shower. It was 63 degrees when I got up but I felt warm in here so put the air conditioner on.

My friend wants to buy two chairs on Amazon and she does not use a computer or orders online unless I do it for her. So she is giving me the money for it so I can put it in my account today while I am out. Then I can order the chairs for her probably tonight or tomorrow.

Hope you all have a nice day!

Complicated. I have an annoying person who follows me around the net and has done for years. Pest!
She is not a member of this forum.
She gets to me via another forum which I visit for techie stuff but does have a general discussions thread.
She looks for my avatars in forums so changing now and again throws her off.
She criticizes, tells me off, puts me down etc etc. I just ignore.

Her memory is slipping so the name doesn't register with her and so far Nessie seems to be doing a good job .
No comments in other forum yet.
I did start off in SF with Nessie but I like my little Scottie and will put him back soon.
She will have forgotten about him by now.

@hawkdon Maybe you should start with a cup of coffee or tea before making any decisions about what to get into today. It will get your heart started and help you gather your wits.

@hollydolly Good grief. He/she is an Invisipeep who thinks you see what's said on their posts? Must be somebody who's a little slow on the uptake. Duh.

@Mizmo Thanx for the explanation. You might be in disguise, but I still recognize you!

@Sliverfox I remember canning season.

The best part was admiring all my colorful handiwork sitting row on row on every available surface when I got done and before it was relegated to the cold room in the basement waiting for winter.

The worst part was scrubbing the kitchen, especially the sticky floor, when it was all done.

All that time in between? Hot, sweaty, chained to a timer, no time for anything else.

Yesterday my laptop quit. Just died. 2 weeks ago it was my phone; had to replace that. Now, I had to replace my laptop. Forgot most of my passwords, had lost my list. Grrrrr. Spent most of the day restoring sites I use the most.

Even my refrigerator light bulb burned out! $8.95 for a 4 pack of led bulbs at Walmart, they had nothing else, unless I wanted a 6-pack.

Cloudy. Will have rain tomorrow.

Hope our CA people are ok.

Had the engineer for gas meter upgrade today. Job done, relief. Tomorrow, Gassure for installation check-up and readiness for autumn/winter heating bout.

Wednesday, last lot of groceries for month. Got to spoil ourselves from all this exhausting time, so I've put CROISSANTS Half-dozen on grocery list. Got fresh crunchy peanut butter jar, need to add chocolate bars on too.

Reese's company was later on a discovery for me as Papa used to grab a piece of chocolate and drop a dollop of peanut butter long before I knew about them LOL!

Made a brownie cake, late last night. 3 ingredients basic plus 300mL of milk.

Angel delight chocolate pudding
Sponge cake mix chocolate
Wee bag of chocolate chips

Put angel delight with 300mL of milk and whisk, add sponge mix till blended in, add chocolate chip, distribute in rectangle loaf mold. Put in oven for 30-35 minutes in 350°F/180°C cut in slices as you wish. Yummy!

Good morning to all! I saw this pix on FB last and it filled my heart with joy! So I thought I would share it with you, I hope it starts your day with a joyous heart, too!

It's going to be hot again today. It was 80° when I got up!

I'm sure this heat has a lot to do with my lack of enthusiasm. I need to find my "git along"

......

There was not a breeze to be had yesterday, no air movement at all. And yet, another huge piece of the coffee cup tree came crashing down! At least it missed (what is left of) the Fairy Garden this time. But the piece that fell was big enough to kill someone, if they had been standing there!!! 😳 At this rate, there won't be much left to cut down over the winter. Mom Nature is doing it for us!

Thanks Holly. I bought another Hewlett-Packard (HP) yesterday. It's ok, but I liked my former Lenovo better, but it never made it to two years! I cannot spend a lot of money, so I don't really know what would be a good one for you.

I'm to blame for the early demise of the Lenovo. Over-use, I sometimes fall asleep with it on me, getting too hot. Some times I wake up and it's on the floor!

I don't know how, nor do I want to know how to use my smartphone to surf the Internet.

Mondays I do laundry.

I hate laundry because I hate my washer. I especially hate my washer because it still works reasonably well and my frugal self (OK, let's be honest and say "cheap") won't replace it until it breaks for good.

So, I do laundry and curse.
that's like my dryer.

The handle broke a couple of weeks ago, and it can't be fixed, so to keep it closed I've had to rig up a system so it work when it's drying clothes. It's Integrated behind a cupboard door in the work units so it's not offensive to the eye.. but I don't want to buy a new one while it still works..even tho' I've had this for over 25 years..lol....

Good morning all from soggy, shaky Southern California! Thank you all for your kind words and well wishes.

How much rain did we get? I never trust official measurements because they often seem way off. Before the rain started, I measured our pool's water level from the bottom of the skimmer intake to the water line. Did it again this morning. 5.25" of rain in under 24 hours! That'd be lot of rain for us over the course of a month during rainy season, never mind a day in the driest month of the year! Winds were brisk and gusty but not as bad as most years' autumn Santa Anas so the trees shrugged it off.

None of my family had any problems with flooding or wind damage, thank goodness. I don't think many folks did. We were all well warned and the cities/counties cleared storm drains, culverts, etc., in anticipation. Also lucky to have been hit on a Sunday so most stayed home and weren't on the roads.

The earthquake (yes we had a 5.1 quake yesterday) shook our nerves but did little damage anywhere. Silver lining: it was the first time we were given EQ notice via cell phone alert. It was only a few seconds, but enough time to start the process of duck, cover and hold on.

So all is well here.

Have a look on my post on the ''Watch '' thread.. for those who want to know who my unhinged stalker is....
Don't Tell Me I Don't Have Time

@hollydolly ... I started that thread and just to be absolutely clear, Holly, you do not mean to imply that I'm an unhinged stalker :ROFLMAO:
You say "look on my post" and therein you reference your "soo2Bex" soon to be ex. Am I correct?

I can't afford a hugely pricey Laptop either Rose, but I would like to avoid the very cheapest ones ... It' not urgent..I do have my MAC..and of course, the Ipad and Iphone... altho' tbh it's more fiddly using the latter to access the internet, so they're only used if I'm away from home.
