Well as I said earlier no chance of me going anywhere today due to the Big holiday getaway traffic... for this last Bank holiday of the year..., and anyway I'm waiting at home for a delivery shortly

It's been overcast and Sun today ( 3.30pm now) .. and quite breezy can't make it's mind up, despite the forecast for rain this afternoon there's been none.. Took a local walk... and took some photos of my area... believe it or not these photos were all taken within 30 minutes.. that's how quickly the sun and cloud cover came and went..

@hollydolly I've been vaxxed and boosted. No idea where I'd have got it, but cases are up by the thousands here in just the past week. Time to break out the masks again.

I can't go back to work until next Wednesday IF the test is negative. Oh, well.

No fever and oxygen level at 99%. So far, so good.
well thank the good lord there's no fever... and I know you hate to be idle, and have time off work, but you need the rest..., ..treat it like a little vacation 🤗

Grocery boon. Found wood oil for archery bow and new dining solid pine table and bench. CD player in blue on special for £15 (cause box was lost). Low long coffee table with 4 storage drawers.

Heavy duty kitchen scissors, I needed a new one to replace the one that broke. It had a long use of over 15 years. Daughter found sponge on tube to use to apply the wood oil I've found. I'll probably sand down the pine table but next year, I've other fish to fry before Christmas lol!

Still couldn't find fly swatter, the other one gave up after smacking a rather large fly, made a hole in the middle lol.

Got lunch (sandwiches) and dinner (2--10" pizzas for a fiver) bargain! There was a special on Pepsi Max, so got a cherry and a lime flavoured ones.

Currently, had lunch, delish sandwiches from Morrisons. Done dishes, enjoying first coffee of the day, while enjoying latest new season of "Hudson and Rex" on Alibi channel.

Reminder, got to try and find DVD of Merlin's Apprentice. It's cold and wet today, rain is on and off. Not much sunshine except after we came out of British Heart Foundation store.

Kitten's happy his girls are back home, shared the chicken salad and BLT we had at lunch. Now snoozing between us on the sofa.

Thanks @hollydolly for the mention that it's a holiday weekend. I'd forgot about it. Delivery expected Monday, so got to break down old set, Sunday night and pack it ready for pick up from hallway. Busy weekend, just hoping for warm days and sunshine...

Otherwise, got to dry laundry in dryer... bummer!

A nice relaxed day today. Got up late. A few small errands (Took stuff to the tip then went to the leisure centre to renew my gym membership for another year.) A nice walk down the prom and lunch at the cafe on the end of the pier. Nipped in to see Mum and set up the digital photo frame we got her yesterday for her 84th birthday. It's quite cool as I can send photos to it from anywhere I have a WiFi connection :)

I've had a busy week so I'm taking it easy today. I was planning to go to the supermarket this morning but it was pouring plus thunderstorms were forecast. I did some financial stuff instead and it's my intention to put some things away and straighten up a bit, especially in my walk in closet, but maybe I'll put that off til tomorrow.

I didn't get a chance to post about my yesterday which I intended to do last night when I got in but I had a snack, took my meds and fell asleep. I woke up with a devil of a Charlie horse, that took several minutes to massage away. 😩

In the wee hours of the morning, I did laundry and last night my honorary daughter and I went to see my dear friend Hunter perform. The restaurant lounge was packed and as usual, the crowd loved him. We had dinner while watching the show. On his break, he came over and spent some time with us. We managed to incorporate a bit of business (when he'll have my song arrangement ready) during our lively chat.
All in all, yesterday was a very nice day.

I love to people watch and I love Dunkin Donuts coffee. I try not to eat the donuts but if I do it's an old fashioned and/or a sour cream donut.
DD does have good coffee, even my sister likes it. My son used to get coffee from there often as well, now he mostly makes his own and carries a thermos. I've never heard of a sour cream donut ! Now I'm intrigued.

On the plus side of things, I managed an outing, which is a difficult challenge for us, in order to go to a shoe store, where we did come away with badly needed shoes, both for myself, and for DH, which put an unexpected smile on his face. I was worn out but very glad to do that.

On the other hand, today brought yet another medical appointment for him, with difficult and sad results. I want to be so calm and supportive and reassuring, yet I get emotional from these challenging times....
Bank Holiday Friday here.. the weekend including Monday is the last public holiday until Christmas. Traditionally millions go away ..usually abroad.. or at the very least crowd the beaches. However today is overcast... and perhaps the beaches will have to give way to other pursuits.

I never go anywhere further than locally on the Bank holidays because the traffic on the motorways is something to behold.... and not in a good way...:D🚗🚕🚙🛻🚌🚎🚓🚒🚑🚚🚍🚘🚖
Great image, for the traffic on holiday weekend, Holly! (y):giggle::LOL::ROFLMAO:
In USA, we have one for the following weekend, as the last one for the summer season.

What is permitted to be built there, if the landowner decides to?
I really don't know, Kaila! Look at the roof at the right hand side of the picture. That's a seniors' home. If it's the same owner he'll probably build another one. There's also a nursing home on my other side, so it could be either. I hope, given the present housing shortage, that they'll build an apartment building instead! Would be nice to see some young people come and go for a change!

My youngest son and his family are into cosplay. Today (and over the next couple weeks) I'm working on some costumes for them.

My son will portray a Star Wars character named Baylan Skoll, his daughter will be Skoll's apprentice, Shin Hati, and his wife will be Ahsoka Tano, respected leader and warrior for the light side of the Force.

Yeah, I never heard of them, either. But so far, going off some film clips and images, it's looking good.

It's killing my back, though. Not sure how much longer I can do this. I've been doing it for years.

Ah! I'm gonna post a few pics on my SF diary....some of the costumes I've made up til now.

I can't stand the new coffee beans being used by most outlets! Well, relatively new, it's been going on for years. When I tried Tim Horton's coffee when they first appeared on the scene in Canada I was in heaven. Tasted just like the one that Momma made over in Germany. Colombian Beans, smooth, mellow. I was in heaven, then the change to a coffee bean more bitter and biting.

I bought a Melitta Filter machine, tried every conceivable bean ... no satisfaction.

Drank Instant Coffee for the longest time, wasn't overly keen on it but it was no worse than the new brewed stuff! Then a Keurig! It has been resting on a shelf for months, same reason, just didn't taste the same as the coffee I grew up with no matter which bean I tried. Even Colombian coffee didn't taste right (to me)! I gave up on my daily coffee in disgust and had Chicken Noodle Cuppa Soups by Campbells instead.

Now here's the kicker. My younger daughter gave me a jar of Nescafe Rich (Colombian) Instant Coffee for Christmas and I thanked her but let it sit there for months, because which connoisseur drinks instant unless they are desperate.

A couple of weeks ago I had a coffee craving, made a coffee with this "inferior" stuff, and you guessed it. It tastes just like Momma's (Mutti's)! I am in heaven, the jar is empty already and I had my daughter take a picture of it, just to ensure that the next one is identical!
