this is one of the hardest things to do when you're on your own. I turned my mattress last month .. but it was hard work doing it without help
Really @hollydolly ? Sorry to hear that. Either me or daughter, we take covers off, leave fitted sheet on. Push it off at bottom, horizontally and just swing across. Simple! Since you're on your own, try this trick to get duvet cover on, easy-peasy!

LOL....I may try this method of putting on my Duvet, but I feel as though I may be laughing at myself while doing it. Or cussing!

But, I have been procrastinating putting it on, because I'm not sure where to start.
Although, now this video has given me something to work with.

Thanks, I think :giggle:

La meilleure sélection de cafés de spécialité | Second Cup Café BTW don't know why, but the site is mostly in French nowadays. Nova Scotia and Ottawa were the ones I knew.

Also read somewhere a while back that all Dunkin Donuts shops have closed up and left Canada altogether?

If I recall, also, saw the first Sobey's groceries store in Nova Scotia but way back on Twitter someone had mentioned there was one opened up in Toronto, Ontario?

PS flavoured coffees were popular in the 80s. Hazelnut and Vanilla were two favourites back then. Nowadays it's all flavoured with syrups.

Mmmmmm muffins have closed shops too, what? Those gigantic muffins were soooo good!!!
No, no, no @Supernatural. You muffin lovers are the reason I no longer get jam filled donuts at Tim Hortons. Those yeasty, deep fried ones <drool>!!

Seriously, Sobeys have stores all over Ontario. I think! Someone correct me if I am wrong! They also have stores under the name of Safeway! They really expanded during the time I lived in Nova Scotia! And I never knew about flavoured coffees in the eighties because after Timmies switched beans I no longer bought coffee there, but sulked at home, drinking Nescafe!

Do you know if there were any Dunkin Donuts franchises in Nova Scotia? For the last eleven years, before I moved to New Brunswick, I lived in a tiny, rural community and was out of touch with the larger world!

I just had a closer look at your Avatar! How come you know so much about Canadian affairs if you live in Scotland? Or should that be New Scotland? :)

LOL...no..I saw this 'trick' with the duvet cover years ago... I can't do it... I have OA in my fingers so I can't grip..the covers.. so I don't use a duvet for that reason. Instead I use a top flat sheet, and a Comforter... I have washable lightweight comforters in several colours to match the decor...

My mattress is very heavy.... I can't spin it because my bed is against the wall... ..and there's only 2 feet of space between the end of my bed and the dresser, so I can't stand it up either at the end of the bed..

On my early walk around 6:15 this morning, I wore my yellow reflector vest because it was still a bit dark outside as I went to buy local paper&WSJ
This was the 1st time this wk I've been able to water the plants/ flowers in our community garden,it rained either during the night /day
This morning around 10, friend/resident Patrick came to put my new desk chair together that I bought on Best Buy website. I'm not good with putting things together I profusely thanked him 15 min later
I like the new chair which I'm sitting in, very comfortable compared to the chair I bought at Target last yr. My new chair has arm rests my other one didn't.

Good to hear you got your new desk chair assembled, Sue... I've got to the stage now where there's no seating at all in my house without arms... I don't always use them to aid my standing, but when my back is playing up, they really help...

Did you ever tried using a Duvet cover over your Futon mattress for seasonal living room freshening?

Daughter and I scored that off Todo list after hubby died. Futon covers are expensive but duvet covers are a doddle on Amazon. King-size Ikea mattress on 3-seater pine futon and Single one as well. Six months of the year, white with red poppies. Then cooler six months, floral black.

All four duvet covers (2 singles, 2 king-sizes) under £25. Great savings, looks amazing and no more dry cleaning bills.

Glad you enjoy the tips. Daughter had found it when YouTube was just starting out. It's only recently that there's two of us to change sheets or turn mattresses. When I got married, I learned a lot by myself. Single beds were easy, had to find tricks by the bucket load. Just ask, I'll find it lol!

@hollydolly I just happened to see that you posted a link about the downside of nut milk. I only saw it because I was scrolling this thread on my tablet, on which I do not like typing replies (or anything else, unless absolutely necessary). Anyway, now I can't find the post. Is there any reason you didn't hit "reply" or tag me using the @sign?

Yes, I read something a while back about almond milk not being a good choice and thought I'll be damned if I change my milk again! Every time you turn around, something new is bad for ya. I've seen: sparkling water, margarine, pasta sauce in cans and plastic jars, tomato products in general if you're arthritic (hasn't bothered mine), eggs, chocolate, coffee, butter, kale (in large quantities) and any produce on the Dirty Dozen list. Where does it end?!

Now they have oat milk. I heard it was good but I doubt I'll try it anytime soon. As with any other new fad, the price is higher than I'm willing to spend.

Try this trick to flip your heavy mattress

Or this one. Good luck!

Hubby's work contracts took us all over. Canada were the longest ones. I was alone at home with Munchkins and had a vehicle, I ran around to get kids at school, shopping and all.

The last one lasted 13 months in the USA. He worked almost 24-7 on those contracts, I hated staying home, so I visited the areas. I tried many stores in our married years.

Regarding Dunkin Donuts found these free coupons, but locations are in USA:

Why did Dunkin’ Donuts close in Canada?

lol, thanks for trying to help Supernatural... the first one would be impossible to do, my mattress is firm it couldn't be folded.... and the second.. as I said I can't get around to the other side of the bed because it's against the wall. I can't move the bed because it's an Ottoman bed with storage... this is why it's very difficult for me to turn the mattress. I did it by myself.. but it was difficult...alone.. first time I've done it since the O/h has been gone

Do you get access to storage by lifting the hydraulics at the bottom? If yes, then you've got under mattress storage, so just lifting wee bit then you should be able to swing...

Honestly, wish I could come by and show you cause I say nothing's impossible LOL 🤣🤣🤣

Mine weighs a ton, all memory foam king-size bugger. Hence why we rotate only twice a year now...

It's not impossible...like I say, I've already done it, I've already turned the mattress, I worked out a way to do it myself, given also that I can't grip due to the OA in my fingers.. ... I do have hydraulics, but the storage is full there's no space under the bed...

Took a drive out to Stouffville and bought groceries at Wal-Mart .. another one that has
gone to all self check-out.

On the way home, listened to 740 AM radio which was airing the life story of Van Morrison's music. I never knew he was born in Northern Ireland. Though I wasn't a huge
fan, I do like some of his songs, and his bio was very interesting.

I'm smelling of smoke. I've just been in the garden for the last 45 minutes burning Documents in the dark. I was making it awkward for myself because I have a garden incinerator but it's way at the back of the Laurel hedge.. where it's been for several years, and I have no intention of pulling it out covered in insects in the dark of the bottom of the garden...

... so I just got a big metal pan and burned a bunch of documents in that.. wow , it went up like crazy.. no help from a fire-starter...so , i've got another load to do... but tomorrow during daylight I'll go and haul that incinerator out from back there behind the 30 foot Laurel hedge , and burn the rest tomorrow night

I'm still among the living. Feel like :poop:. Spent so much time in bed yesterday that I have to just sit up on my sofa today. Hurt all over. DD is sick now, too. Texted Sir. His response "Me, too." I feel like Typhoid Mary.

Temp still a steady 97.9. Oxygen still at 98-99%. Guess I'll make it.
I’m so sorry you’re battling Covid.
Of all the people, to develop Covid, I thought you would be the very last, or if at all…..how did it get through your armour of steel.
Please take extra care, and get through this, Georgiagranny.

@MickaC I thought I'd be the last person to get it, too. Thought I was invincible. Nope. Thought DD was invincible. Nope.

DGD had it three times while still living here. DSIL had it twice. Neither DD nor I got it. How was that possible? Well, yanno, because we were invincible, right? This must be the newest strain. Once it's gone, I hope I can stay healthy until the newest booster is available in late September.

Just tried to eat some broccoli cheese soup. Blech. Maybe ice cream would suit me better.

I am sooo bored.

And if you find a fun dance partner, there,
they wouldn't likely be impressed! 😁
Don't blow the opportunity, if you meet someone nice, bobcat! 😄☺️😆💃🕺

("Excuse me, but I promised my friends I'd take a video of myself dancing, for them!" :sneaky:😂)
Well I am taking a neighbor, and I think she likes to dance, but we're just friends. She's certainly attractive, but not really my type, so it's just a fun night, but that's all.
