What are you doing today 2023

I just ate lunch. Had a good long shower this morning, and now I'm committing a dietary sin by enjoying a can of my favorite drink: Full-blooded Coke.

This afternoon I need to deal with my crying birds. That is, over the last few nights I've heard intermittent birds cawing. At first I thought, "well, that's cute." But then thought, "wait, it's October." So I went outside and I suspect the culprit is an old dish/antenna the previous people had put up, slowly coming away from the wall as the wind blows. Sadly, it's ten feet up, so I can't just tear the thing down.

Still liked the idea of a birds nest though.

Home after a nice lunch .and visit with DS/DSIL. We went to Longhorn and ate like we've been starved for days. They are such good company and very funny.

Our temps are supposed to drop by early morning. Really drop. Tomorrow's high temp is supposed to be only in the mid-60s! Summer's over so I need to start planning my spring garden. This time around it's going to be annuals. There are already a gazillion perennials out there, and I swear they are a heckuva lot more work than annuals.

Received Amazon Sony Store ordered ILCE-6700 camera body. Will need to spend hours reading a massive several hundred page online only user manual. Boring boring but necessary. Body not up to doing so now, but no reason to hurry. Might be initially turned on and initially set up during weekend, just to ensure basic functionality.

Conversely, our temps are climbing. Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be 77 deg..

I was surprised today.. I wrote a scathing review about the book I bought from Amazon..for the seller and the description of the book... and requested a refund.. within minutes my money was refunded... and despite being someone who rarely requests a return or refund,I've never had anything refunded so fast,,, I wasn't even asked to return the book

I think it has to do with being a good customer. When we do have a problem, they don't ask questions, they just fix it.

I think we both use Amazon a lot and we don't file a complaint unless there is a reason for it. They always have treated me well when something goes wrong.

It's sunny today altho' it had been forecast to be cloudy.. however the weekend is forecast to be sunny and warm.. so I'm hoping I can get out then...

Today I'm staying home.. it's racing towards 2pm.. got a delivery arriving later..

Had to leave a biting review on Amazon for a hardback book I bought which arrived dirty , and smelling of some strange odour.. after the seller listed it as in Good conditions.. It's not possible for me to read the book.. so I've demanded a refund..

Today is my eldest grandfurkid's 16th birthday... Can't believe it's 16 years since I looked after him as a tiny pup while my DD worked and he had razor sharp teeth , so I nicknamed Magwai .. he's got Dementia now and sleeps 23 hours in 24 .. but he's still a sweet little old furby...Happy Birthday little Stan

I always enjoy seeing your photos!

Happy birthday, Stan! 🦴

Cold, wet and miserable today (and forecast for tomorrow too). I really did want to get some work done outside, but it will have to wait.

Yesterday we took the car to the main dealer in Elgin to see about the emergency call problem. They quickly diagnosed a fault with the aerial that tracks the GPS location, but then the bad news - it has to be ordered and the supplier was unable to give a delivery date. Why are cars so complicated?

Indeed I am Captain. Good eye !!! 👍

:ROFLMAO: ... well I have another one waiting to serve as part of a broader meal this weekend.
And now my house smells like cave man, flame crusted protein. Bonus :ROFLMAO:
My elder daughter is left handed and I always have to remember to set her place at the table the 'other way round' when she visits.

Haven't had much sleep since kittens arrived; this coincided with the breaking of my CPAP machine; it just gave out. Lack of sleep for two reasons. I'm exhausted. Going to pulmonologist today for a new one, which will take awhile of course but I've got to get the ball rolling. 😴 zzzzzz's. I need some.

Got an hours sleep. Literally. So I'm in a kind daze at the moment. I did walk the dog earlier, and it's going to be a glorious day here. While I know it's not for everyone, I do like watching football, so I guess I'll be doing some of that while I wait for exhaustion to come drag me to the dream world.

I had a busy week. The painters came to paint the entire house (inside and outside). They were very nice and did a great job however, the cats were very disturbed. Elliot cannot stand closed doors and Elsa does not like intrusion in her daily routine. I spent my time trying to make them feel comfortable. Yesterday afternoon we did the big clean up and today will be a calm and relaxing day. Both cats are back in their routine of playing, eating, and sleeping! Life is good!🙂

that's a huge thing to go through, having the inside and outside painted.. Did you move out while they were doing it ?.. I bet it looks lovely now does it ?

Mattress shopping. The ones I bought a month ago are simply too big for the twin beds we bought -- 14 inch mattresses on top of a box on top of slats we finally got drilled in, make it higher than my waist. On Monday, Big Fig is coming to take them away and refund our $2000. They were very nice about it. I'm stuck with the quilt/spreads which are too heavy and the filmy, cobwebby sheets, which are too light.

What new consumer errors will I make today?

Fell asleep watching a 2:30 hours film. Woke up in time to wish goodnight to daughter. Slept three hours, woke up, then after two hours, slept another 3. Yuck!

Getting lunch ready, got timer on. Got dressed, all clean clothes, but 16 pants stretchies too big 😂😂😂.

So many questions on my mind... I'm wee bit lost. After spending wonderful decades with the love of your life, it's difficult overnight to find yourself all alone, doing everything. Where not long ago, we shared everything.

I know what to do after the lost of a granduncle, grandparents and father... But losing a spouse to death, may not be different in other people's views. However, I'm at a loss.

I would have preferred to have guidance back then sort of within the first six months. To no avail...

I wanted to know what had happened, why he never said anything about his health. Searched everywhere for something written somewhere that would have explained... Nothing!

I knew how to live alone with our children as he was away on work contracts 24/7. I know how to take care of bills, accounting and home care.

I absolutely don't know how to flirt, date or whatever... anymore. I'm out of sorts... sorry ranting... foods ready. Later!

There were 3 to do the job. They were busy inside for a full 2 days and outside for almost 2 days. 2 coats of paint on the walls, they did all trims, moldings, and doors. Outside they painted including the soffits, and gutters, and both doors. I was amazed by the way they worked. Professional and detail-oriented. The intrusion, I felt, was quite minimal. We were asked to stay in the master bedroom that has a connecting bathroom for one day. The next day was more critical as the cats needed to stay in their kennel for a short time while they could finish all their work and that the paint could dry. The weather cooperated nicely too. The result is great. I feel we just moved in!
