What are you doing today 2023

I tried to catch up a little, just now, by reading some of the posts on this thread, but i am not able to read more of them, atm.

What I am doing, today (and yesterday,... and tomorrow..)
Is trying to cope with emotional effects of the shootings that happened near here, 2 days ago, that are on the news.

It is a devastating tragedy, for many, plus the shooter is still at large. Unknown, where he is or what he might do, next.

I am upset for others, and finding the stress very difficult for myself, as well. Very stressful.

I’m so sorry you are going through this, @Kaila 😞

Kaila do you live near the club where the shooting took Place?... have you been reading the thread on the forum about the shooting?

try and be calm dear... I know it's shaken many people up who live close by, but there's nothing you can do for the dead and injured, and keep yourself safe by staying home with the doors and windows locked...

I'm up. Exhausted. Hope I can make it until noon, then off to a birthday lunch for an old friend. I dunno if I can face 2-3 more hours after work. Maybe I can sweet talk Sir into trading my Monday off for tomorrow. Please? Today will be five days in a row at work, and I dunno if I can do it again tomorrow.

Son & grandson pre-Halloween visit! Trick or Treat. I have candy, cards and gelt for both my spooky boys.

Today we are visiting a new local playground which I am proud to say my late, great friend had a big hand in gaining interest in building for the children. Her hard work in this community brought it to fruition. (((Ruth)))

It's 3.30pm...it been a glorious sunny warm day...57 deg f....but now it's started to rain and it's going to be on for the rest of today..

I got a lot of things done today.. all these little niggly bits that one keeps putting off.....

DD lives in a one horse town basically which is relatively crime free .. with one bank ( which is more than most towns now have in England)... but last night during the night.. the cash machine was ripped out of the wall of the bank.

What a mess for a few thousand pounds.. really these people should be dealt even more severely than casual robbers because of the amount of damage they cause

Looking at the pictures my son has online ,, site seeing in London.
He's there on a short business trip.

Now I must get the vacuum sweeper out & clean up wood chips, etc, that follows hubby into the house.
Its a rainy day here.

I did get the kitchen floor mopped yesterday.
The floor in this room is next after the vacuuming is done.

With this wet weather,, feel that house cleaning is going to be short lived.:eek:

Hope everyone has a nice weekend,, don't eat too much Halloween candy.
Save some for me? 🙃

which part of London ?

Howdy folks......a cold day here, 41 to start....nothing I need to
do of any great importance.....been thinking today what a miracle I am....I mean 84 years old, should been dead long ago,
yet here I am, live alone and haven't burned down the house...medical issues of course, thats the game at this age...
I shoulda been dead as a drunk, lived that way till 41 yo, then
God gave me another chance, just one more maybe, and I've
made almost 42yrs sober....hitched hiked all over this country but didn't get killed by anyone, married several times and the
ex.s didn't shoot me...ah well.....just memories I guess.....catch you later.....

There's nothing better than a cup of coffee and going outdoors at 39*F to wake a person up well for the day.

No more snow after yesterday morning, and with temp above freezing, much of what was on the ground & roofs has shrunk down (like to a half-inch thickness). In fact, it's gone on the cultivated ground... grassy areas retain it longer. I've got some machinery to move underneath roofs before the serious snows start and the long-white begins.

We dug some maple leaves into the raised beds in which DW always raises onions, leeks, root veggies and many & varied flowers.

Anyway, part of today will be spent cleaning these chainsaw & sharpening their chains.

Went out shopping for drinks and sodas supplies today. Got a large Lambrini for our Halloween Feast on Tuesday, plus cranberry juice to add to it.

We then got the usual, Pepsi, Cherry Cola, Tonic Water and Ginger Ale.

First bottle of Spirits for the Holiday (thankfully, as we're not huge drinkers. So, not many bottles to buy lol!). We haven't had any for a while as husband didn't like this particular one.

So, we've paid ourselves a treat, daughter suggested it and I couldn't resist as the price was very reasonable.

A London Beefeater Gin... G&T anyone?

Same here I have no time for horror movies.. and even Strictly come dancing iss Halloween week tonight... I'm just not a Halloween fan..

Today I was in the barn and noticed a big snap-on box full of Halloween ornaments , and I just couldn't be bothered to pull them out..

I'm thankful for once that we have torrential rain tonight because the usual Fireworks would be going off all night in many people's gardens pre Halloween... ..then we'll have all the trick - a- treaters on Tuesday night and then of course we have Guy Fawkes night next week.. which is a whole week of very loud fireworks going off ever night... the poor pets are all sedated up to the eyeballs

Here in the Uk every year a call goes out by millions of people for home bonfires and firework parties to be made illegal and instead have community firework parties on one night only.. but it's ignored every year

*Bah Humbug * 👻🎃👹

Drinking coffee, watching college football on TV and trying to decide which pocket knife to tote today

Thank you for these posts. It helped me to read them. 🥰
This afternoon, what I'm doing, is beginning to try to unwind the tight knot I've been in, for the past few days.

There's still a lot of shock and grief and emotions, here, along with some amount of relief, today.

I am glad I managed a much needed nap, this afternoon.
I am focused on trying to relax.
