What are you doing today 2023

The alarm went off at 8:20 and I wondered how long I would have slept without it. Started the day with laundry. Have lots of running around to do today, including taking back a parcel because they forgot to remove the security tag. I was already debating keeping these fry pans and realized it’s wasteful to keep them when I don’t really need them yet. Several other little stops and then will go to the track to walk.

I understand feeling exhausted after a social event. For the last year or so I've felt the same. If I have a socila event..or a long day out.. I'm shattered the ext day.

Once upon a time I could go on day after day like the energiser Bunny.. people always asked where I got my energy from.. but now this last year... not the same at all.

The thing is despite being in my late 60's.. I look much younger.. and so when I tell people, I'm sorry but I need the next day to rest.. they laugh and think I'm joking, because they forget I'm chasing 70...
My energy starts waning around 3:00 - 4:00 in the afternoon. If we're having guests in the evening, DH & I take a nap or at least a lie-down in the early afternoon.

We're usually fine the next day, but rarely schedule anything taxing for the day after hosting a party.

Dear me, @Mizmo! Glad you're okay. I'd have freaked about the blood even though I know that head wounds bleed profusely. Just...blood. Ew.

BTW, feel free to come here and moan, rant, whine. That's what we're here for! Of course, we don't mind the good stuff.
I have things I could rant about . Mainly health but at my age why bother. Of course a bluddy bump in the head is somethin new and should pass. Other stuff I am stuck with.

I did have a real rant with you all about doctors and appointments and had good support when the thumb that isn't there was in the process of being chopped off. Can't believe it all started two years ago and the bggr is till there. Makes life harder than it should be at this age.

All in all not in bad shape for my advanced age. Ninety one in April if I live that long
My sis, who doesn't do video chats wanted to see me so I sent her this pic couple of days ago.
The head dressing is neater and the thumb has it's dress on:ROFLMAO:
It is very sensitive about that. Will post for a few hours then remove.
Waving to y'all
Have a good day

I did everything on my list and blued my hair besides. Yay me. Now I feel like a nap.

I am watching the very strong winds and rain, out my window, and hoping the power does not go out.
It's not terribly cold, if it does go out, but it's dark at 2p.m.today, due to this huge and unfriendly storm.
Yeah, I don't mind a friendly storm, it's the unfriendly ones that scare me:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Today, I had a 6-hour visit at the place where I'm participating in a clinical trial.

I got my first shot (I'll be shooting myself up from now on....once a week) and got 17-count 'em-17 vials of blood drawn over the course of the 6 hours.

AND I was fasting since last night and didn't get to eat til 3 p.m.

I sure hope I'm getting the good stuff and not the placebo......I have another 14 months of this.

I've got the laptop on the kitchen counter b/c I just put rice on and you know how that will boil over the min. you walk out of the room; so I'm babysitting rice. It will go with the Dal I made earlier. I believe there is some chardonnay wine left from the chicken marengo my older-middle son made a couple nights ago; that should be a nice, crisp foil for the spicy Dal =D (Love Indian food)

On the other hand, I am struggling mightily with a knitting project I have in the works (the sleeveless sweater vest/jumper I've mentioned). Why did I start this? Why? It's a more intricate increase/decrease pattern than I've ever done and I'm suffering from "perfectionist paralysis" I think. So I've made myself do a few rows today. It's funny b/c I've knit intricate things like Fair Isle pattern that had several colors of yarn going at the same time and never felt like this.

Apparently, Georgiagranny can't resist a garden center and I am not to be trusted in a yarn shop, haha.

Have a lovely evening, y'all!

Yanno, you can shop for yarn to your heart's content...online.
Ah, well, @Georgiagranny, for me at least, a trip to the yarn shop is more than picking up yarn. It's marveling at the range of colors, savoring the textures of the different types of yarn and knowing they have come from all over the world. Kind of a total-immersion experience... and I like quality yarn, so it ain't cheap. ;-D

Send all my eCards today. Only one hasn't been viewed yet. Receiver might be away on holidays already 😂.

Due to new tree skirt being bigger, we've decided to leave off the musical train. Otherwise, there won't be any room for the village.

😭Bit sad of the news, just got email that our club isn't having a Christmas party. We were looking forward to go somewhere else for the holidays but it's homebound celebrations again.

😁😄😆Thanks for that!
I had to look back at my own post, to figure out why you'd responded with that unusual wording. 🙄
I'd forgotten, I'd said it that way. ☺️
It just came to me at that moment. 😊

So yes, it was very unfriendly, And did knock out power for huge numbers of households,
But ours stayed on, Thankfully!!

It's passing by now, but will take multiple days to repair all the outages for people.
It would have been very difficult for me to manage, that way. 😕

My covid symptoms are lessening. Whewwwwwww!
