Last Tuesday night wife and I, along with my son and his fiancée attended the Tower of Power concert
with the Nashville Symphony.
A great concert with one of the best Funk/Soul bands still touring.
Tower of Power formed in 1968, from Oakland, CA and have been on the road for 56 years.
Both my son and his fiancée were new to them and I watched how they fell right into the Groove.
Enjoyed sharing what his parents liked back in the day.
I tried to listen to the Grateful Dead's Workingman's Dead last night. My sense of pitch somehow has gotten better over the years, which makes listening to Jerry's vocal's extremely difficult. I wish someone would pitch correct some of the most off pitch notes. As bad as they are on the album, they're even worse in live performances, although they're pretty good on the Europe '72 live album. Bob has pretty good pitch.
My pitch is pretty bad when I sing, too. I can tell when other people are off pitch, but not so much when I'm singing. I've played in front of an audience a few times and looking back, now I wish I hadn't! Oh, well. It was fun... for me, anyway. I used to sing really loud, too! Oh, god...
