What are you listening to in 2024 ?

I adore Eric Clapton. His mellower tunes have gotten me through so many tough times. I had him on nearly constantly during the 2002 DC sniper shootings, when we lived in the DC area. My stress level has been off the charts lately. Songs like this help.

That put a smile on my face. Perfect!

Are they related to the older Analogues Beatles cover band?
I'm not sure. I just heard of them with this video. But the YouTube channel is the Analogues.
I don't see too many covers of She Loves You come across my feed. John Lennon once told Paul McCartney that he couldn't see himself still playing She Loves You in his thirties. This video proves it's more than just a young teen song.

I have always loved the song ''All the young Dudes, both from David Bowie.. and my favourite version from Mott The Hoople of which I still have the original 45...

On Saturday night the guests on Strictly come dancing were the Pet Shop Boys.. I like their music always have .. and I heard them sing All the Young Dudes on Saturday night's show for the first time ... Fab

This song requires the Bowie type vocal so in this live performance, the song's greatest strength is lost to the crowd noise.

Also, it's not really a ballroom dance number.

Bowie wrote this and gave to Mott the Hoople after they rejected his Sufferagette City acc/to Wikipedia. I liked it on the radio in its day but was surprised to learn it wasn't Bowie.

conversely I enjoyed the dance to the song on Saturday night...probably because I've been a dancer all my life, and I can seperate the dance from the music

It seemed as if the dancing was in sync with the crowd clapping and not the song. Why would anyone clap like that to All The Young Dudes? It just seemed forced.

On a more positive note, I enjoyed Lulu's cover of Man Who Sold The World which Jet posted (link below)
