I recently heard her for the first time. She is phenomenal.CBC Radio aired an interesting bio on Diana Krall recently. She is married to Elvis Costello.
That put a smile on my face. Perfect!A Beatles song not often covered....
The Young Analogues
- She Loves You
I'm not sure. I just heard of them with this video. But the YouTube channel is the Analogues. That put a smile on my face. Perfect!
Are they related to the older Analogues Beatles cover band?
This song requires the Bowie type vocal so in this live performance, the song's greatest strength is lost to the crowd noise.I have always loved the song ''All the young Dudes, both from David Bowie.. and my favourite version from Mott The Hoople of which I still have the original 45...
On Saturday night the guests on Strictly come dancing were the Pet Shop Boys.. I like their music always have .. and I heard them sing All the Young Dudes on Saturday night's show or the first time ... Fab
conversely I enjoyed the dance to the song on Saturday night...probably because I've been a dancer all my life, and I can seperate the dance from the musicThis song requires the Bowie type vocal so in this live performance, the song's greatest strength is lost to the crowd noise.
Also, it's not really a ballroom dance number.
Bowie wrote this and gave to Mott the Hoople after they rejected his Sufferagette City acc/to Wikipedia. I liked it on the radio in its day but was surprised to learn it wasn't Bowie.
It seemed as if the dancing was in sync with the crowd clapping and not the song. Why would anyone clap like that to All The Young Dudes? It just seemed forced.conversely I enjoyed the dance to the song on Saturday night...probably because I've been a dancer all my life, and I can seperate the dance from the music
hated that..can't stand Lulu...she shouts doesn't sing...It seemed as if the dancing was in sync with the crowd clapping and not the song. Why would anyone clap like that to All The Young Dudes? It just seemed forced.
On a more positive note, I enjoyed Lulu's cover of Man Who Sold The World which Jet posted (link below)
What are you listening to in 2024 ?
I only know To Sir With Love which was a big hit here in the US. After that she disappeared, for all I know, from the spotlight here.hated that..can't stand Lulu...she shouts doesn't sing...
