What are you listening to in 2026 ?

I don't like this cover... conversely I loved the original by 10cc.... still do....
Well, it very popular when it came out so somebody liked it. It came out in 1975 when I was still in high school. It was an all boys high school so there was too much testosterone for us to appreciate this kind of flakey BS. We were grooving to Radar Love and other cool beats in the cafeteria where there was a jukebox.

this was released the year my daughter was born, and we had just bought a new Stereo music centre, so this got a lot of plays
An artist friend of mine lent me Oxygene & Equinoxe after I was married. He also lent me Ommadawn. Although the first time I heard Ommadawn, my jaw was wide open in awe of how musically creative it was. It still hits me that way.

well the original by 10cc was number one in the UK for 2 weeks... and also in Canada.... and in the top ten of the American Billboard top 100...

How do you know? Well whatever.
I looked at it and it sounded a little off, plus the singer is playing a Gibson ES-345. Neil Young plays a Les Paul.

Plus, this text is under the video:
"Here is The Mother Hips performing the song at the Belly Up Tavern in 2006." :ROFLMAO:

I didn't realize this had been copied/modified... Aerosmith changed it to "Reefer Headed Woman" back in '79. I'm learning that more and more of their earlier music is like this. Interesting

funny thing is there'a big piece in the papers today about Paul believing he was the taskmaster of the group.... also he is saying that after John died Yoko Ono said she thought he was Gay.....

In an interview with Vanity Fair, conducted in 2015 and published last week to coincide with Man on the Run, a documentary about Paul's life after the Beatles, he explained how Yoko, now 93, had once shared her theory with him.
Yoko Ono thought one of the Beatles was gay, McCartney reveals

also did you know....
that former Quarrymen bandmate Len Garry has tragically passed away aged 84 his family have announced.

The guitarist played in the 1950s skiffle group alongside teenage school friends McCartney and Lennon, before it evolved into The Beatles in 1960.

Len, who had been diagnosed with dementia in 2024, was recently rushed to hospital with a chest infection, before medics allowed him to return home for the final time.

Isao Tomita (Tomita Isao; 22 April 1932 – 5 May 2016) (often known simply as Tomita) was a Japanese composer regarded as one of the pioneers of electronic music and space music as well as one of the most famous producers of analog synthesizer arrangements. In addition to creating note-by-note realizations, Tomita made extensive use of the sound-design capabilities of his instrument, using synthesizers to create new sounds to accompany and enhance his electronic realizations of acoustic instruments. He also made effective use of analog music sequencers and the Mellotron, and featured futuristic science-fiction themes, while laying the foundations for synth-pop music and trance-like rhythms. Many of his albums are electronic versions and adaptations of familiar classical music pieces. He received four Grammy Award nominations for his 1974 album based on music by Claude Debussy, Snowflakes Are Dancing.

This does sound somewhat familiar. I must've heard it in my lifetime. The album cover looks like Mr Spock.
