What do men regard as a perfect woman?

I was struck by a thought, about what a man regards as a perfect woman for an ideal relationship. Is it a woman who apparently has no needs at all? Certainly not ones she talks about.

Does anyone remember the novel The Stepford Wives by Ira Levin? It had a big impact on me in my youth.

In general, much male behaviour can be explained by thinking about this. They like women who are quiet, compliant and non-demanding. Similar to the family dog - who is loved so much by all for those very qualities!

Of course there are exceptions, plenty of men who wouldn't dream of that attitude, but I'm talking in general.

I remember laughing about Oliver Reed saying his ideal woman was a mute, nymphomaniac landlady. I think he made a telling point, in jest.
It's no wonder you laughed because Oliver Reed was joking. Have you seen his wives? I think he was married twice and neither of them was mute or a landlady.

To explain "male behavior in general" you take into account a man's upbringing and his previous relationships, same as anyone.

I suppose most men's ideal woman is his selfless mother + fold-out model + best bud ever, who will be faithful and a great mom to his kids, who will never ask more than he's capable of giving, and who won't turn into wifezilla at 40 or whatever.

What does a man want in a woman, well here goes. Most men want a woman who never has a headache, keep quiet. He didn't marry her for her house keeping, but wants the house kept spotless when she is not servicing him. Gotta be a great cook, when she is not servicing him.

Interesting posts. Yesterday I watched The Taming of the Shrew on TV with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton. Clearly, the perfect woman is one who submits to her husband in public and denies her true nature. If she doesn't, coercive control will bring her to heel. </irony>

Today, the man in front of me was checking out & was talking to the clerk. He mentioned that today was his wife's 91st birthday & they had been married 72 years. And he was 93.

WOW! The clerk & I talked while I was checking out & neither of us had heard of anyone married that long.

I wish I would have known this question, because it would have been interesting to ask him what he thought?
President Carter and Mrs Carter were married 77 years! Thats the most I ever heard of.

I want to say I had been talking with a friend, hence that post. I have been very lucky, DH and I have been married 66 years and had he been like my friends husband I would have been long gone.
