But that's what they do, they just bored lil gods! Sure thats my 2 Cats. One is Spec, the other is Cola. They really bored now with near 20F temps.
Turn on a baseboard heater and 3 - 4' away they are there sponges of warm they are. Sure they are full of give me attention 24/7n's

The thing that gives me pause is the opinion of Elon Musk. He says it's scary and he ought to know.

well we've seen AI produced lovely pics on here that look like real oil or water colours -if it can do that so well who needs the real thing the artists of the future??..................

I've taken to using Co-Pilot and ChatGPT for searches. They both give very specific responses to question I ask, unlike Google or Duck Duck go which respond with a sort of machine gun approach, often returning answers that unrelated to the question.
They all are giving us answers to our questions rather than giving us the resources to figure it out ourselves. It is doing that now. Giving us the answer without us logically figuring it out.

This is interesting, I consider Co-Pilot and ChatGPT to actually be a resource that helps me resolve problems. As an example, I just bought a new computer and I ran into many issues while setting it up, lots of questions like "how do I do xxx" or how do I change xxx". Co-pilot, being a Microsoft product had many of the answers I was looking for and helped me greatly to resolve issues with the new set up. It wasn't always 100% accurate but to me, that seems to be expected in a technology so new. Finding the answers myself would have required a call to tech support.

And said programmers can apply that to programming anything they GD well please. I don't know about you but I'm not that trusting of the programmers. The mad scientiest trope exists for a reason. You go on and get a brain chip from Elon. I'll pass.

And if there is, will it be enforced, especially if law enforcement relies on AI? (Cops have computers in their cars now.) Or will it be like the laws listing ingredients in food allowing natural flavorings to mean almost anything?

World peace would not necessarially be a good thing, unfortunately. Just like anarchy wouldn't be. World peace can only be achieved through tyranny.

I wouldn't think any institution will create world peace. "When love of power is transformed into the power of love, the world will know peace."
( sum funky musician ). Instead of taking over countries to "improve" them, lets try negotiating terms of having cooperation be the guiding principle. We are not ready yet, and still play the old game of dominance, but the world is changing...respect will become a necessary component in creating our new world government. There will be no exact locality or a major repository of resources. Because those stupid countries have all had quite an education the last few years due to the internet.

Yes, and no.

The algorithms today are very complex. They are not linear. No single person knows how AI is working. It's mathematical. It's theoretical. No single person understands.
 
I think the fear being generated by all the supposed experts, friends of the experts, media in general, news in general plus anyone with an opinion, mixed it up in social media and it produces a soup of fear, anxiety, apprehension and down right gloom and dis-pare.
FOR HEAVENS SAKE CALM DOWN.
AI has benefits that can be beneficial AND it can be used by those more intend on profit than benefit.
Drug companies are a perfect example of the ability to press on peoples fears and produce very profitable results.
AI is not the beast in Revelations.
It is simply a tool, that can be used by those inclined to help others and those inclined to make a profit.

There are no simple answers. Stop looking for them.

Stop believing everything you hear. Stop putting your faith in strangers and trust your own common sense.

If that's not enough then trust that, just in times past, the Lord is in control. Has been and still is.

well the issue there is that you think the Lord doesn't know our own handiwork. He does. He considered the intent and then he responds.
Blind, child like trust is exactly what he wants. Very hard, very risky.

Yes, that's what I said. But could you possibly be deceived?

Let me make this perfectly clear. The only reason satan continues is because he provides a challenge to God.
All he has to do is prove God wrong, just once. ... JUST ONCE!
Then he wins. God is not who he says he is.
He has not proven God wrong yet, but he continues because his fate is sealed with either winning or loosing.

Because you fear for today. There is nothing you can do. You can't change anything. You can worry and wring your hands. As Lydon Johnson said about Vietnam, "I can't run, I can't hide and I can't make it go away"
Same is true for us.
Trust in the Lord. Do your best. Look out for family and friends and BELIEVE that God will work it out.
