I reckon if there is such a thing as reincarnation I would come back as an earthworm, so if I find one in peril on my daily walks, I put it in a place of safety!
I want to find myself sitting in the shade on a beautiful tropical beach. In the distance, a group of guys are approaching. Jesus walks up and says, "It'll probably get a lot better as the tide drops. Come on up to the house and we'll get you a board. Gonna be a luau tonight. Do you play guitar?"
I hope that I'll be remembered fondly for a while.
I hope someone plants a tree in my honour, as I did for my father.
I hope they don't plant it over the main sewer line as I did because that causes big problems.
Hope all you want, How in the hell are you going to know whether you achieve your hopes(wishes) or not!
You only get one go down here, there ain't no more!!!!! So make the best of it!!!!!
I hope to either just die, and have everything end...or experience eternal light, joy and love that they speak of. As far as dying, hope it's quick with a heart attack, or in my sleep.
When I die, my hope is that I can finally retire!! And I hope that everyone quickly forgets everything they think they know about me... I don't want to live on as a lot of erroneous opinions!! But mostly, I hope that the dying process doesn't drag out and burden my children. And I hope that whoever gets my cameras will take some incredible photos!!
I expect to be much like 'Freddie the Leaf', my ashes helping another young tree grow. I'd like to be reincarnated again as a human, but in a life not so hard as this one. Like the many generations before us, when our time comes, and our long silent march in to history gets underway, I hope for a painless end.
"And when I diiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeee ...
And when I'm goooooooone ....
There'll be
One child born
In this world
To carry on ...
And probably to do all the damned fun things I never did!"
I would like to leave this earth knowing that i learnt some of the lessons i came down to learn.
And hopefully my daughters cremate me and send me express post to the funeral directors of the cemetery where hubby is buried and they can sprinkle me on top of him
poetry360, I love your poem, Smorzando. One of the things I find that makes it even more splendid is that it contains a word (which you also use as the title) that I never saw before. I was compelled to find out it's meaning. The word smorzando... what could it be? I found out it means 'Growing gradually fainter and softer; dying away'. And so, you found the perfect word for your poem.
